8 Florida Produce Recipes

Floridians are so spoiled. White sandy beaches, warm weather, local seafood and fresh fruit for every season. Why wouldn’t you want to live here?

As we head into the warm summer months Floridians are wrapping up blueberry season while enjoying fresh tomatoes, sweet corn and watermelon. Not only can we find locally sourced produce at grocery stores and farmers markets, we can even head out to local farms to pick our own fruit. Talk about the best way to teach kids about where food comes from!

Blueberry Picking

Picking our own fruit has become a family tradition. Sadly a busy May kept my family from enjoying picking our own blueberries this year. Last year, we came home with buckets of fresh berries, and somehow they taste even sweeter when you’ve picked them yourself. And the best place to pick them is, of course, my uncle’s blueberry farm.

There’s nothing better than fresh fruit and veggies on the dinner table, and some of our favorite recipes feature fresh Florida produce.  If you are looking for some ideas to bring seasonal flavors to the table try these 8 recipes featuring Florida product.
