I have a confession to make — I have never baked a cake. I have made all kinds of treats, and plenty of cupcakes, but I have never baked a cake. Technically, I still haven’t baked a cake, but I am super proud of my faux cake. And if you ask me this Easter Rice Krispies® Treat Cake is just as pretty and yummy as the real thing.
I love Rice Krispies® Treats as much as the next person, but I have moved on from plain Jane Rice Krispies® Treats and quite enjoy coming up with new ways to serve them. Previous Rice Krispies® Treats have included Easter Rice Krispies® Treats Nests, Easter Egg Rice Krispies® Treats, Chocolate Candy Cane Rice Krispies® Treats and more. But without a doubt, the Rice Krispies® Treat Cake is my new favorite.
If you are intimidated by making a cake, but you can make Rice Krispies® Treats then this is the cake hack for you. It’s a fancy way to serve Rice Krispies® Treats and perfect for an Easter party or spring celebration.
Easter Rice Krispies Treat Cake
It takes a double batch of Rice Krispies® Treats to fill at 10-inch bundt pan, but a double batch is too big for my sauce pan. So rather than doubling the recipe, I made the recipe twice. I mixed up the first batch, poured it into the bundt pan and made the second batch in the same sticky pan.
- 12 cups of Rice Krispies®
- 2 (10 oz) bags of marshmallows
- 6 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cups of M&Ms
- Candy melts
Melt three tablespoons of butter in a large sauce pan. Add one (10 oz) bag of marshmallows stirring occasionally until completely melted.
Repeat the steps above to make a second batch of Rice Krispies® Treats. Pour the second batch on top of the first pressing it into the bundt pan.
