Celebrate Graduates With A Shutterfly Graduation Annoucement + Giveaway

The end of the school year is an important rite of passage for students of all ages, but for graduating seniors it is a monumental occasion. One that should be celebrated and reflected upon. This year I will wish two special young ladies a happy graduation as they move onto the next chapter in their lives, and I am excited to see where they go next. To celebrate I surprised my niece with the opportunity to pick out a Shutterfly graduation announcement courtesy of her cool Auntie Jen and #MyShutterfly.

Reflecting on her graduation makes me feel old — really old. She was four, the age of my youngest, when I met her for the first time. I was invited to a surprise birthday celebration for my future mother in law and my future sister-in-law had flown in from Boston with her kids. They were so tiny and sweet! I had no idea on that first meeting that I would get to watch her grow up and someday wish her a happy graduation.

Shutterfly Graduation Announcement

Shutterfly has long been my go-to for all things photos from photobooks to cards and announcements, so I loved being about to help pick out a graduation announcement from Shutterfly. The only problem was narrowing down all of the great choices for grads.

Graduation announcement design options are so much better than they were when I graduated. (Yes, I sound like a crazy old person saying that!)

In the end, we selected the “Notable Achievement” design, which we made perfect with her class photo.

What I love about Shutterfly announcements is the ability to personalize them to reflect your grad’s personality. Many cards even offer different layouts with varying numbers of photos on both the front and the back of the card. For example the card we chose can have one, two or three photos on the front and there are three layouts to choose from on the back.

Note the rounded corners on Jordan’s graduation announcement. Shutterfly offers the ability to further personalize cards with various corner finishes including straight corners (standard), rounded and even scalloped (for an additional fee). I love the look of rounded corners, so I couldn’t resist upgrading to finish the look.

In addition to photos there is lots of space to include text about your grad’s accomplishments and/or what they are planning to go on to study. Some cards even offer the ability to change the card colors, so you might find an option to coordinate with you grad’s school colors.

Finally, you can even customize your envelope choosing a metallic envelope or an envelope liner to compliment your student’s school colors.

To make the announcements more “complete” I purchased matching return address labels. So cute. (Address and personal have been changed for privacy.)

When looking at graduation gift ideas I found matching Thank You notes. As a self-proclaimed thank you note advocate, I had to surprise her with some thank you notes. (Maybe I will be lucky enough to receive one back!)

  4. When my son graduated, I printed up a bunch of 5×7 prints of him from birth through graduation and stapled 3 of them together to put on each table. I put a balloon bouquet in the center of each. Everyone enjoyed looking at the photos.

  7. A fun and interesting way to celebrate the graduate is Shutterfly ‘s “Timeless Tassel” Thank You Cards. They have an actual tassel with the graduation year attached to the card and would be much more interesting than typical thank cards. There is room for three pictures on the front of the card and another picture can be placed inside of the card.

  8. Shutterfly has some great options for photo books, which would be a fun way to commemorate a graduate’s school years. Another good gift for the graduate would be a special mug or phone case celebrating the senior year in photos.
