Puppy Chow Chex Mix Recipe To Celebrate The Secret Life Of Pets ~ Giveaway

My husband and I have always been movie junkies, so it is no surprise that our daughters’ favorite night of the week is family movie night. Every so often I like to mix things up and make family movie night extra special by eating on the floor, having a special treat or playing a game. In celebration of The Secret Life of Pets on Blu-Ray/DVD, I created a special themed treat — a Puppy Chow Chex Mix Recipe. It may look like a dog treat, but I promise it is a sweet treat not to be shared with your pup.

This post is sponsored, but all opinions, and the yummy recipe, are my own.

My kids thought I was hilarious when I handed them ramekin bowls filled with what looked like dog treats. “Silly mom, is this for Bear and Bella.” I had to reassure them multiple times before they would try my special treat, but once they tried it — they couldn’t stop snacking. This party mix is people food, but it sure is a cute way to celebrate a puppy party or The Secret Life of Pets.

Ingredients

Directions

Melt chocolate and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat at 50% power for 1 minute and stir. Heat again at 50% power for 30 seconds and stir again (repeat until smooth).

Put Chex into a large bowl and pour chocolate and peanut butter mix over Chex. Gently fold in chocolate until fully coated.

Put powdered sugar and cocoa into a large plastic bag, shake bag to mix well.

Add chocolate cereal, seal bag closed and then shake, shake, shake!

Let mixture cool. When you are ready to serve add in the Scooby Snacks. (I add them in last and on top so they don’t get covered too.)
