Out Of The Apple Orchard Orlando Premiere

This holiday season, Central Florida families are invited to enjoy a home-grown story as it takes the stage for the very first time. Local author, and my mother’s long-time friend, Yvonne David’s book Out of the Apple Orchard will make its debut as a play on December 19 at the Orlando Repertory Theatere.

Out of the Apple Orchard Orlando

Inspired by Charles Dickens, Yvonne’s historical fiction story contains a lesson about making up for any wrongdoings and is filled with humor and heart. The Orlando Premiere of Out of the Apple Orchard is a wonderful family outing during the holiday season.

About Out of the Apple Orchard

In the fall of 1910, a Jewish family, recent immigrants from the Old Country, moves from The Lower East Side of New York City to the hamlet of Mountaindale in the Catskills for fresh country air. Papa is too sick to work and food is scarce. On his way to school, twelve-year-old Adam is hungry and sees the apples in the orchard. He cannot resist the ripe, red fruit. A spunky young lad, Adam hides the apples in his cap, a hand-me-down from Papa and two sizes too big. But when the farmer has to climb farther up the tree to pick apples during a terrible storm, slips off the ladder and badly gashes his leg, Adam has more to face than the angry farmer.
