Of course, everyone has their favorite Christmas cookies to bake, but I also like to mix it up with new ideas. And this time of year a plain cookie just won’t do — I want something festive and tasty too! Festive colors and festive flavors like peppermint and chocolate! 

This holiday season Glad Holiday Edition products (available at Target) include seasonal recipes to inspire your festive baking. I picked up a pack of large tubs to hold all of my holiday sweets and couldn’t resist making the M&M’s Black & White Peppermint Brownies from the box packaging.

Not only is the recipe delicious, but it is designed to fit the entire batch in one Glad container. Smart right?

The not-so-secret ingredient in this recipe is the White Chocolate Peppermint M&M’s. These special holiday M&Ms are also only available at Target, so while you are there grabbing your Glad containers grab a bag or two. You could make the recipe with out these, but it wouldn’t be the same. I am not even a huge white chocolate fan, but with the peppermint, oh boy they are good. And on top of the cookie bar, well these treats won’t make it through the weekend. 

I didn’t end up using the M&M’s baking mini’s (also available at Target) in this recipe, but I have a plan for those coming soon.
