Christmas Rice Krispies Treats Truffles

I used to be afraid of making truffles. I’ve always loved to eat them (who hasn’t?!), but making them sounded so complicated. Then last year, I tried making my own. What was I so afraid of? Truffles are an easy, no-bake dessert that people love. And there are about a million ways to make truffles. My newest creation, Christmas Rice Krispies® Treats Truffles. This post is sponsored by Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies®.

Rice Krispies Treat Truffles

I promise that truffle recipes in general are truly easy to create, but Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® Treats Truffles — it doesn’t get any easier. You start with your basic Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® Treats recipe (you can handle that right?), then dip and chocolate and decorate.

Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned how yummy they are! The only problem is that because they are bite size, you will want to eat several. Or at least that’s my problem!

Christmas Rice Krispies® Treats Truffles

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles and/or crushed peppermint candy

Makes approximately 80 Christmas Rice Krispies® Treats Truffles.

This part gets a little messy.

The easiest way to form small truffle balls is with your hands, so grease your hands well with butter. (My kids thought this part was hilarious!)

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave on 50% power for 45 seconds. Stir and heat in additional 20 second increments at 50% power until smooth.

Use two spoons to dip the Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® Treats into melted chocolate. One to hold the Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® Treats and one smooth out the chocolate. Then carefully place the chocolate-covered Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® Treats back onto the non-stick surface.

Before chocolate cools sprinkle with your choice of colorful sprinkles or crushed peppermint candy (or both!).
