DIY Christmas Ornaments With Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates

This post brought to you by The Hershey Company. The content and opinions expressed below are that of The Suburban Mom.

My daughter and I have a tradition of giving homemade gifts to her teachers for Christmas. Something simple, usually something edible and something she can help with. This year we made her teachers DIY Christmas Ornaments With Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates, and they might just be my favorite holiday teacher gift ever.

DIY Christmas Ornament
This trio of ornaments is sure to sweeten anyone’s day. I mean how can anyone resist a Christmas ornament filled with Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates?!

Not only are they adorably festive, but they are very easy to make. Easy enough that we have plans to make a dozen of these DIY ornaments for various teachers and coaches, as soon as we stock up on more Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates.

These Christmas ornaments are a fun and crafty way to spread a little holiday cheer with The Hershey Company. The recipient can enjoy the ornament for a while and then easily open the ornament to enjoy the treats inside.

Because my DIY Christmas ornaments are meant as individual gifts, I used large 100mm ornaments. If you want to give a trio or just smaller ornaments, you could use medium 60mm ornaments. Just make sure you buy ornaments that split in half as the ones that fill from the top aren’t big enough for the Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates to fit through.

Sort the Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates by colors and fill the plastic ornaments. I used nearly three bags of Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates to get enough red, green, and silver chocolates to fill three large ornaments.

After filling the ornaments it is time to decorate them to look like Santa, an elf and a snowman.

To create the Santa ornament, wrap black electrical tape around the middle of the ornament filled with red Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates. Next I cut a piece of gold glitter tape to form a belt buckle. If you can’t find the gold tape, you could always use gold glitter ribbon or paper and a bit of hot glue.

To create the elf ornament, wrap white electrical tape around the middle of the ornament filled with green Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates. Next wrap red electrical tape around the ornament overlapping the white tape, but leaving a bit of the white tape exposed. Glue a white button in the middle of the tape.

Finish by tying a ribbon through the top of the Santa and elf ornaments to hang.

Snowman Hershey’s Kisses Ornament

To create the snowman ornament, glue three black buttons down the middle of the ornament filled with silver Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates. Use a plaid ribbon (I used one with wire edges) to tie a large bow. Loop the red ribbon through the bow and tie it through the top of the ornament to hang.

I am so pleased with how these Christmas ornaments turned out. It took only a few minutes to create all of them, and I can’t wait to give them as gifts. Let Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates be your other little holiday helper this season by inspiring you and your family to create magical crafts, décor and gifts for everyone on your list.

    • Hi Christine – The plastic ornaments I used snapped together, so nothing was needed to hold them together. The tape on the Santa and Elf was just decorative. I highly recommend the ornaments I used for this reason (there is a link in the post).
