Fuel Your Road Trip With Fresh Foods From 7-Eleven

tsm 2

From short trips to the beach, weekend trips to Disney and a seven-hour road trip to North Carolina, my family has plans to be on the road a lot this summer. Destination fun! But on the way to fun, I’ve gotta keep the kiddos fed. Because inevitably someone is always hungry. Always.

This summer families on the go can fuel up their cars and their family’s empty bellies with fresh choices from 7-Eleven. It doesn’t matter if we have an hour drive or a seven-hour drive, when we have to stop it needs to be quick and easy. Fueling up the car and the family in one stop, now that is convenience.

On our first of several car trips for the summer we stopped at 7-Eleven to see check out the selection of Fresh To Go options. As soon as we walked in the door, it was easy to spot where we needed to head for fresh food. Along the back wall we found shelves filled with tons of fresh options like:

  • Fresh sandwiches
  • Salads
  • Fresh cut fruit
  • Whole fruit
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Yoplait Yogurt Parfait with oats and honey granola
  • Bistro snack packs with mini pitas, cheddar cheese cubes, red grapes, celery, baby carrots and hummus

There were so many choices, everyone in my family was able to find something they loved. My girls immediately spotted the bistro snack packs. They quickly decided to split a turkey, ham and cheese sub along with a snack pack of red and green apples with caramel sauce and cheese cubes.

My husband spotted a Cuban, and I decided on a Mediterranean pasta salad (so yummy!) with a side of sliced fruit — mangos, kiwi and strawberries.

Selections made, we were in and out. The longest part was toasting the Cuban! Back in the car it was time for a family “carnic” (a car picnic) and back on the road. The kids were happy filling their bellies, and mom was happy with fresh, healthy choices.

This is good to know that they carry fresh stuff. I never really pay attention except to buy gas

I had no idea they offered fresh items. Will have to swing by on my next trip past there.

I think it is great that more gas-stop places have better food. Still, I’ll pack my own but good to know where I can go real quick just in case.
