It has been said that Florida lacks a change in seasons, and many jokes have been made. But as a life-long Floridian I can assure you Florida has a beautiful change in seasons. It may not come with a drastic temperature drop or traditional fall foliage, but there is a crispness in the air and October is my favorite time of year. Trust me, Florida fall is beautiful!
To welcome guests and make my home feel holiday-ready, I love to swap out my decor for something more seasonal. Owls have a special place in my heart, so when I saw the white owl cookie jar on my recent trip to the Better Homes And Gardens headquarters, I had to have one. I am so excited to finally show you how I incorporated some of my inspiration from that trip into simple fall decoration ideas for my home.
Along with the
white owl cookie jar from the Better Homes and Gardens seasonal collection I found several seasonal touches from BHG that became the inspiration for my fall foyer table display. Including a white pumpkin cookie jar — one can never have too many cookie jars, right?
Oh, and I have to tell you — everything (except the mini pumpkins) on top of the table came from Walmart. (The bottom shelf is filled with items I already had around the house.)
There is nothing cozier than the warm glow of a yummy scented candle. This time of year I always have several burning. I sniff tested every
Limited Edition Better Homes and Gardens candle and discovered that my favorites are
Spiced Pumpkin Pie and
Spicy Cinnamon Stick.
While a glowing candle is pretty on its own, I couldn’t resist the fall candle sleeves with the leaf cut outs — also a Better Homes and Gardens product.
Did you notice the
mini owls? How cute are they?! Even though they are
salt and pepper shakers, they fit into my fall table top quite nicely. (And they were only $2.84 for the pair.) On a shelf you wouldn’t be able to tell they are shakers, even on my table no one has noticed without me pointing them out.
To bring the whole look together, I anchored the decor with a
burlap table runner from the Better Homes and Gardens collection. It also does a great job of masking the table’s glass inset top, giving it a cozier feel. I am considering getting a second burlap runner for the kitchen table to change up my
seasonal tabletop decorations from last year.
I wanted to add some natural color, and since we don’t have naturally orange and red fall foliage I picked up the colorful branches at Walmart. (In the season section with the wreath making materials if you are looking.)
I told you I love fall, right? So I designed a simple printable to welcome guests with a friendly, “Happy Fall Ya’ll.” I love printables because they are an inexpensive way to rotate art seasonally. You can
download the free fall printable to incorporate into your fall decor. The
simple wood frame is also from Better Homes and Gardens. (Are you sensing a theme? So many amazing BHG seasonal products!)
Set up at the end of September, this seasonal look will take me through Thanksgiving. Although I may have to replace those candles sooner at the rate I have been burning them.
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
This post was in partnership with BHG at Walmart. As always, all opinions are my own.
