Hints of summer have arrived in Florida. With temps in the upper 80s, we are already making the most of pool days, grilling dinner and eating al fresco. While the kids splashed in the pool, my husband and I created a new flavor for our dogs — Buffalo Hot Dogs.

Although the pool isn’t yet warm enough for my liking (I am a wimp when it comes to cold water), a little cold water never stopped my kids from swimming. So, we make pool time a family event by letting the kids splash and play while we grill dinner.

When it comes to family memories my kids will hang on to when they are grown, pool nights are among the top ones I hope they cherish.

Although P is too little to swim without an adult in the pool with her, she loves her water table. I worried about her being ok on the other side of the fence from her big sisters, but once she got her first splash — it didn’t bother her one bit. “Looky me!” she called to her sisters over and over as she poured water on herself.

Buffalo Hot Dogs

In between watching special tricks and dives in the pool, my husband and I opened all the doors and grilled dinner.

Here’s a little secret, I don’t like ketchup or mustard — at all. So, I tend to be very plain Jane when it comes to dressing up my dog. I’ll either eat it plain or loaded with cheese. But while I won’t touch ketchup, I love to douse everything in buffalo sauce. So I got to thinking, what about a buffalo hot dog?

Guess what? It is as good as it sounds!!!! Fellow buffalo sauce fans, this one is for you.

Buffalo Hot Dog Toppings:

  • Romaine lettuce (chopped)
  • Ranch dressing
  • Buffalo sauce
  • Blue cheese crumbles

After grilling, layer the toppings on your dog and enjoy the spicy goodness.

Ball Park Hot Dogs At Sam’s Club

Now that warm weather has arrived, you will find my family in the pool and grilling most weekends. So, it’s time to stock up on grilling staples like Ball Park® Beef Franks, and Sam’s Club is the perfect place to do so.

The 24-count of Ball Park Beef Franks available at Sam’s Club (in the refrigerator section) is perfect for feeding a large crowd or keeping your fridge stocked for impromptu grilling nights. From May 8 through June 2, 2019, save an additional $1.50 off with an instant savings coupon at Sam’s Club.

While you are there, you can also stock up on other grilling essentials like buns, condiments (buffalo sauce!) and Tyson® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (in the freezer section). See my mom tip below to learn why we grill two types of meat at a time on grill nights.

Mom Tip: Grilled Leftovers

As much as we love to grill on the weekends, we rarely make time during the week. Between work and all of the kids’ activities, it’s hard enough to get dinner on the table. That’s why we like to grill extra to use as leftovers during the week.

In addition to hot dogs, we stock up on Tyson Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts. While grilling the hot dogs, we throw some chicken breasts on the grill for later. Then during the week we can slice them and use them for tacos, a salad or in a pasta dish. It simplifies meal prep for one of our super busy nights and lets us enjoy grilled meat during the week.

If you enjoy grilling and buffalo sauce, I hope you will try these buffalo hot dogs. They are my new favorite. For those non-buffalo fans (like my kids), I understand Ball Park Beef Franks are just as tasty with ketchup.
