Thanksgiving Placemats For Kids To Color – Free Printable

Last year, I hosted my first Thanksgiving. After hosting for nearly 40 years, my Aunt passed the baton to me, and it was a success. Now that I have my first Thanksgiving under my belt, it is time to create new traditions for everyone to look forward to like these printable Thanksgiving placemats for kids.

Free Printable Thanksgiving Placemats

I love themed coloring pages to give kids something to do while they wait, and these Thanksgiving coloring placemats are the perfect activity for kids of all ages. Don’t just limit them to the kids!

I plan to make this a family activity. I’ll print enough for everyone, and then put the older kids in charge of helping the little kids decorate one for each guest. They can place a colored Thanksgiving placemat at each place setting, and I’ll scatter crayons on the table so kids and adults can fill in what they are thankful for.

I hope that before, during and after the Thanksgiving dinner kids and adults will use these placemats as a conversation starter. Talking about what they are thankful for, working together on the word search and enjoying the little kids’ artwork.

Thanksgiving Word Search

Since I am the sentimental type, I will be sure to take photos of each placemat as they are completed. That way they can be tossed when food is spilled on them (easy cleanup!), but we can preserve the memories — especially of the kids’ Thanksgiving placemats because they are sure to be adorable.

I hope these become part of our annual tradition, decorating new Thanksgiving placemats each year and comparing photos from years past. If nothing else, I am sure it will help keep the kids occupied — at least for a few minutes while they wait for the turkey.
