Sweet or salty? Why does one have to choose? How about both! This sweet and salty snack combines the best of both worlds – chocolate and potato chips. Oh and bacon! Because everything is better with bacon, am I right? My husband certainly thinks so. So how about Bacon And Chocolate Covered Potato Chips?
Guess what? They are. And they are crazy easy to make. Anyone, yes, even you, can make them.
Let met get your mind started, these Bacon And Chocolate Covered Potato Chips would be good for a tailgate party, a new parent celebration, a teacher gift, a neighbor gift, on a Friday night… I can think of so many reasons to eat this treat. I think I need to go make up a batch now.
While I am over here drooling, here is the recipe.
Bacon And Chocolate Covered Potato Chips
Makes nine treats.
Ingredients:
- 7 oz. potato chips (I use Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Waffle Cut Potato Chips with Sea Salt)
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- 4 cups miniature marshmallows
- 2 oz white baking chocolate
- 2 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 2 tablespoons bacon bits or crumbled freshly-cooked bacon
Note: I like to use kettle chips in this recipe. They are more sturdy than regular potato chips and hold up to the mixing.
Coat an 8 x 8 square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Melt butter in a large saucepan.
Add mini marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat.
Add potato chips to the marshmallow mixture and stir until all the chips are coated.
Turn that mixture into your greased baking dish and use a piece of wax paper to gently press the potato mixture down.
Melt semi-sweet baking chocolate in the microwave on 50% power for 1 minute and stir. Continue melting at 50% power in 30-second intervals until melted. Drizzle over potato chip mixture.
Melt your white chocolate in the microwave on 50% power for 45 seconds and stir. Continue melting at 50% power in 20-second intervals until melted. Drizzle over the semi-sweet chocolate.
Sprinkle bacon crumbles on top.
Allow Bacon And Chocolate Covered Potato Chips to cool completely before slicing and serving.
