Back To School Fashion And Gymboree Let’s Color Together

As the summer winds down the excitement grows, it’s back-to-school time! And that means back to school shopping for crayons, pencils, back-to-school clothes and the most important outfit of all the first-day-of-school outfit. It’s kind of a big deal around here, and my daughters love hunting for all of their supplies and clothes for the coming year.

Gymboree Hop and Roll
For the past five years Gymboree has outfitted my daughter for the first day of school, and it looks like this will be the sixth. With cute and comfy clothes that fit her well, it is our first place to shop for clothes for all occasions from back to school to family photos.

My girls love to wear matching outfits so they often do. But sometimes I like to put them in coordinating outfits that are slightly different too. Gymboree is perfect for this because Sissy fits in the toddler sizes and K the big girl sizes. Like these adorable coordinating dresses from the Hop and Roll line — Hearts Ruffle Dress for K and Sunny Dot Dress for Sissy.

Both of my daughters are very girly when it comes to their wardrobe. This season I have nearly given up on buying them any new shirts because every morning it is the same thing, “What do you want to wear today?” “A dress!” They have plenty of shirts, but they never want to wear them. So I have indulged them by buying a lot of school-appropriate dresses. In other words, Gymboree cotton dresses with bike shorts under. As you can see, on our recent shopping trip both girls each came home with two new dresses.

Originally I planned for the girls to wear the coordinating dresses on the first day, but Sissy seems to have her heart set on Striped Dress from the Daisy Park line because of the twirl factor.

Look how grown up my K looks in this picture! I can’t get over it. STOP GROWING. (Heart Striped Dress)

Let’s Color Together

As my family finishes up back-to-school shopping filling backpacks with supplies we are very aware of how fortunate we are and that there are many students who can’t afford even basic supplies. Helping to provide supplies is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. So much so that K purchased crayons and glue with her allowance to donate to a student in need. (My sweet girl!)

This back-to-school season Gymboree is raising money to fulfill arts and crafts requests made by teachers on DonorsChoose.org. As a crafty mom with kids who share her love for crayons, paints and markers, it breaks my heart to know that so many kids don’t have access to basic craft supplies. Art and creative expression are such an important part of childhood, every child deserves access to these materials.

Through Gymboree’s Let’s Color Together program you can be part of the solution to provide these tools to kids in the highest-need school with basic art supplies. You can make a donation to this worthy cause during your back-to-school shopping at Gymboree through September 7. Remember even $1 supplies a child with a pack of crayons for the year. Donate today to a school in your community, and help give kids a brighter future.

  6. I have 5 kids and would shop for all of them. So many great things to choose from and I can let the kids pick from online which this dad likes. I am not a shopper and being a single dad raising 5, I’d rather they pick what they like online

  11. Gymboree is my go-to place for my kids’ clothes! My daughter (3) and son (17 months) are both so hard on their clothes and I find that Gymboree items hold up so well! The colors, styles and embelishments are beautiful and appeal to both me and my picky toddler’s tastes!
