What’s Your SleepIQ?

This post brought to you by Sleep Number. The content and opinions expressed below are that of The Suburban Mom.

Do you know how well you sleep at night? Wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly how restful your sleep was each night? With SleepIQ from Sleep Number, you can easily track your sleep patterns and learn how to make your sleep more restful.

Did you know Sleep Number beds can help track your sleep? I already knew that you could adjust the softness or firmness of Sleep Number mattresses, but I had no idea how smart these mattresses really are until we checked them out in person.

Improve your sleep with SleepIQ

I am a big fan of quantifiable answers. When I work out, I want to know how much. And when I can’t sleep, I want to know why. That’s why I think SleepIQ® technology is so cool. There is an app for everything these days, so I am sure it comes as no surprise that there is even an app that tracks your sleep.

The coolest part is that unlike tracking devices you have to wear to track your workout, with SleepIQ there is nothing to wear, nothing to turn on — tracking happens automatically when you sleep on a Sleep Number Mattress.

While you sleep sensors in the bed work with the DualAir™ technology to track and measure your average breathing rate, average heart rate, movement and bed presence to show you the quality of your sleep. In the morning, you can look at a bar graph to see green (good), orange (restless) and red (awake) sleep patterns. You can even input info about your day-time habits to see overtime how they affect your sleep patterns.

Using a pressure-point map, I was able to determine that my SleepIQ number is 30. (100 is the hardest, 0 the softest.) There was no surprise there since I like a soft, plush bed. And I am certain my husband’s number would be much higher since he likes a firmer mattress.

  1. This app would help everyone to see if they are getting the right amount of sleep they need and if not why! Nothing to wear or do even better. This also sounds like a good alternative for getting an expensive sleep study done at a clinic first. I also like that you can input your daytime activities, because they definitely effect our sleep!

  3. That is cool that the bed senses your sleep patterns, heart rate, breathing and other stuff to determine your best sleep setting. I think that it could help people that have sleep problems like me when I have my back acting up really bad.
