Popsicle’s Rules For Being A Kid Contest + Giveaway

Being a kid is just plain awesome. When I watch my girls I often think, “I wish I could get away with doing that.”

I wish I could get away with wearing a princess crown to the grocery story or dancing to the song in my head — in public. It’s just plain fun to be a kid, and there is no better time to revel in the reasons it is great to be a kid than in the summer – that wide-open space of time that is filled with possibilities. (Yet another reason it is great to be a kid!)

There are a million reasons why it’s fun to be a kid, and this summer Popsicle will celebrate those reasons by publishing a “Rules for Being a Kid” guidebook. To aid in the creation of the guidebook, Popsicle is asking parents to share their “Rules for Being a Kid” for a chance to be featured in the guidebook and a chance to win a cash prize of $500.

Throughout May fans are invited to share their rules for being a kid on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, or Vine along with photos and images that bring that rule to life. To enter the contest, just be sure to include the hashtags #PopsicleRules and #contest to make your entry count.

This kid rule was inspired by this photo of my daughters eating raspberries. Yes, this is how my girls always eat their raspberries — every time.

Get creative and get in touch with your kid-at-heart. Share your unique “Rules for Being a Kid” for your chance to be featured in the guidebook and possibly win one of the four $500 grand prizes!

Families are encouraged to continue sharing their “rules” with Popsicle all summer using the #PopsicleRules hashtag to be part of the fun – and help other families share ideas and be inspired to have fun all year round, even after the contest period closes (on May 31). The guidebook will be available for download June 21, so be sure to check the Popsicle Facebook page then to download the rules to enjoy all of the reasons it is fun to be a kid.

Another kid rule in my house – Always share Popsicles with friends.

  1. In the winter, have snowball fight, build a snowman and make snow angels. In the summer, run through the sprinklers, ride your bike, and play on the swings. Don’t let a day go by without a smile on your face.

  2. Enjoy every day to the fullest. I love it when my kids invent their own words as their vocabulary is expanding. It provides laughter which is another definite must for being a kid.

  8. My rules for being a kid it to always have fun and to not worry about adult stuff!! A kid should be a kid and enjoy the little things in life that adults forget about like catching fireflies, sitting around and camp fire having smores, going to the beach and digging big wholes in the sand. These are the memories you will always have so make them good ones.

  12. Rules for being a kid at my house: Get outside and play hard! Do not come in until you are a dirty!

Really I just want my kids to be well rounded and enjoy what life has to offer (within reason). I do not want them to stay inside so I make plans for them throughout the summer that involves trying new things and just enjoying others.

  13. My rules for being a kid is to have fun. Although I can sometimes be uptight about making messes and being loud/crazy in the house, I try to not be so hard on them and remind myself they’re only little once, and I only get to experiencing it once as so do they.

  15. When I was a kid the only rule I had was to be home when the street lights turn on.

I tell my kids that they don’t need electronics to enjoy their childhood. All I had were bats and balls and a bicycle. I had the time of my life. Every boy should play sandlot baseball.
