I am still reeling from the amazing and whirlwind of a weekend I had. (Also trying to stay awake after a red-eye!) It was such a jam-packed weekend of awesomeness that when friends started asking me about it last night, I was nearly at a loss for words to describe the trip (could also be said lack of sleep as well).
There is so much I want to share, but for now let’s start with the last thing added to my trip — the Delivery Man red carpet premiere at the El Capitan Theatre. Originally scheduled for later in the month, we received a surprise email days before our departure announcing that it was moved up and we would attend TWO red carpet events on our trip.
I’ll post a movie review in the coming weeks (you know when I catch up on sleep), but for know just know that I have seen it twice and it is fantastic!
Stepping foot on the red carpet is an experience that is a mixture of excitement and complete bedlam. While I wanted to just soak it all in, and stand there snapping a million pictures, security has other ideas. “Move. Keep moving. You cannot stop, move!!!”
Having done this dance before, I did my best to ignore the large barking security detail. But sheepishly I felt bad every moment I was “in the way.” So before I knew it, my red carpet moment was over. But not before I snapped a few awesome pictures.
Like Heidi Klum chatting away with someone on our side of the velvet ropes. (This almost nearly never happens as stars are focused on the paparazzi screaming at them from the other side.) She looked radiant, of course. And I was thrilled to be right next to her. (Seriously, I could have touched her, but that would have been so uncouth.)
Also on the red carpet, Cobie Smulders and Chris Pratt whom I also had a chance to meet and interview about an hour earlier. (More on that to come.) I wish the picture was better, ya know without someone’s head in the foreground, but remember I was dealing with security who was not my biggest fan.
That’s Cobie in the short black dress, Heidi in the leopard skirt, and Chris Pratt on the far right of the group talking to press.
Just before the red carpet craziness, my friend Louise at Mom Start manage to snap this picture of me. (Which I totally love.)
I also managed to get this fantastic shot of my friend Gaby on the red carpet, doesn’t she look lovely!
Of course, the night would not have been complete if I didn’t totally ignore security telling me I couldn’t take pictures so that I could stop and take my own red carpet moment picture. (Thanks Marshall for taking such a great shot!)
I never got close enough to take a good picture of Vince Vaughn at the premiere (although I did shake his hand when I interviewed him before the movie). But I want to share this great photo Dreamworks took of the Delivery Man stars.
It was sheer madness walking that red carpet, and just plain awesome. It was wonderful to be part of it all, even if it was only for a few moments.
DreamWorks Pictures’ “Delivery Man” stars Vince Vaughn as affable underachiever David Wozniak, whose anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years earlier resulted in 533 children. David must now embark on a journey that leads him to discover not only his true self but also the father that he could become.
Delivery Man is in theaters Thanksgiving weekend – November 22, 2013.
There is much more to come from the #DeliveryManEvent / #ThorDarkWorldEvent including interviews with Vince Vaughn and Tom Hiddleson.
What a fun trip it was! You look gorgeous in the photo that Louise took! And I love the picture you took of Gaby – she was so great!
You got some great shots! I can’t wait to do this again with you doll!
