Slow Cooker Kraft Recipe Makers Make School-Night Meal Prep Easy

While feeding my family healthy meals with real, fresh ingredients is important to me, I am all about easy meals and shortcuts. Especially shortcuts that don’t sacrifice quality for quickness. Last year, my family discovered Kraft Fresh Takes, which quickly became a stable in our regular mealtime routine. So when I heard about Kraft’s newest product, Kraft Recipe Makers, I was intrigued and excited. Then I saw something that made this product a must-try. Slow cooker recipes.

This is a sponsored post.

During the fall/winter months the slow cooker is one of my favorite ways to prepare dinner. It is perfect for school nights, especially nights when extracurricular activities keep us out of the house most of the day. It’s so nice to come home to a hot meal waiting to be served.

Plus nothing beats the smell of dinner cooking all day. It feels so cozy.

So what could make a slow cooker meal even better? Less prep work. With Kraft Recipe Makers meal prep is virtually eliminated. Sure, you still have to prep the fresh ingredients (meat and veggies), but that’s it.

I choose to try Kraft Recipe Makers Chicken Cacciatore. With a few alterations to the box recipe to appeal to my family’s specific palate, it was easy, delicious and smelled wonderful cooking all day.

  1. 2 lbs chicken mixed breast and thighs (I just used breasts)
  2. 1 sliced green pepper (at the last minute I skipped the pepper because of picky palates)
  3. 1/2 lbs sliced mushrooms (I subbed canned artichoke hearts since my kids freak at the sight of mushrooms)
  4. Pour in one bottle of Lemon Oregano Simmer Sauce
  5. Add chicken, making sure to coat both sides of  chicken well
  6. Add veggies
  7. Top with Tomato & Italian Herb Cooking Sauce
  8. Cook on low for 8 hours
  9. At meal time prep pasta noodles, drain and add to mixture in the slow cooker.
  10. Serve

Prep time in the morning; less than 10 minutes. Prep at dinner is as simple as boiling noodles and serving. What could be easier for a home-cooked meal?

Because I am very concerned about the ingredients I serve my family, before I agreed to make dinner for my family I checked out the ingredients list on Kraft’s website. I was very impressed with the list of real ingredients. So many boxed meal options are chock full of artificial flavors and preservatives, but the ingredients list on the Kraft Recipe Makers Chicken Cacciatore is something I can feel proud to serve my family.

So what is inside the box? Each Kraft Recipe Makers includes two sauces a Simmer Sauce and a Cooking Sauce. TIP – you won’t find Kraft Recipe Makers in the “boxed meals” aisle (where I initially looked), they are located in the pasta aisle with the sauces. Just a little FYI.

A quick, easy meal that is hearty and full of real ingredients. The only question is, “Which Kraft Recipe Makers will we try next?”

YEH!!! You have no idea how excited I am to see this. I can’t wait to try it. I use my slow cooker all Fall & Winter and I always get stuck making the same things. Also, thanks for the tip on what aisle to find it in.

Don’t we all get stuck! 🙂 And you are most welcome on the tip. I spent several minutes wandering around trying to find it — no need to do that! 🙂
