A few weeks ago I posted about the little marigold garden K and I planted. It was beautiful and perfect. That was a Wednesday.
Sadly, this was the scene Saturday morning.
I tried replanting the uprooted seedlings, but the next morning they were uprooted again and more chewed up (and still worse the next morning until I gave up). So much for our little flower garden.

Aww that is sad 🙁 There is some stuff you can buy that deters them but the one that works supposedly is to tie a pie tin on a stake it scares them with the light and sound I guess.. I am totally trying it this year. Deer ate my corn seedlings last year.
Katie says
oh man, that sucks 🙁
Anne - Mommy Has to Work says
Oh no! It’s kinda neat that they come to eat… sorry!
Jennifer @ Mom Spotted says
🙁 Awww that is us with Strawberries and bunnies! Last year the boys were so sad about only getting 2 to eat!
Henrietta says
Aww 🙁 I’m sorry your plants were ruined! I had to put in raised beds for my veggies last year to keep the bunnies (and the chickens) out of them. I’m not sure what to do about deer though? There must be something you can put around to try and deter them?
kewkew says
oh no! so sorry.
Last year we had rabbits eating our veggie garden. stinks
TerriAnn @ Cookies and Clogs says
I’m so sorry they just attacked your little garden. I guess you’ll need to make it a bit more heavy duty with fences, etc. but then it takes away part of the fun. How about installing a deer feeder instead 🙂

Oh no! In my area I have to worry about cats turning my garden into litter boxes so I’m not sure what is worst. I never would have thought they ate marigolds.
Canadian Mom Blogger says
Oh no! I have bunnies who like to empty my garden 🙁
Felicia says
Oh no! That is so frustrating. I wish I knew a trick, but I don’t.
Jenna @ For The Love of Baby! says
I’ve heard of doing trimmed hair in the garden to deter bunnies, I wonder if it would work to keep the deer away?
Shawn Ann @ Shawn Ann's World says
AWWW that sucks! It looked so pretty.
Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says
I would be so frustrated too! 🙁
Maryann says
Oh no! That stinks.
Billie says
Aww, that’s sad! I feel your pain, I planted a bunch of seeds and had cute little sprouts and then my cats ate them.
Avry says
🙁 not cool

What a bummer. Look for a plant that deer don’t like to put next to them. Marigolds repel bunnies for sure. I plant them around my veggies for that reason. I had a coworker tell me once to put hair out to keep deer away (from your brushes or from a barber shop.) Not sure if that works as I never did it.
Christi says
Ugh, I can imagine how frustrating and disappointing that would be. We don’t have a problem with deer down here so I don’t have any good advice for you, but it looks like plenty of others have dealt with it too. Hope you find a good solution!
Katy says
How sad. Do you know what’s doing it? You can try putting out moth balls, that deters a lot of things. But I would probably be to sad to try it again.
Paula @ Frosted Fingers says
What a bummer. I guess you plant yummy food.
Kasandria Reasoner says
Boo 🙁 You must have done something right though!

People are always saying that rabbits will leave those alone but, I’ve seen them snacking on mine in the past.
Have a great rest of your week!

Boo to the deer! They must not realize how disrespectful they are!! 😉
Tiff @ Babes and Kids says
Sad. 🙁 Isn’t there some sort of deer repellent you can buy? I swear I read about some once upon a time.
