In the next few weeks, Christmas lights and decorations will be popping up on houses all over our neighborhood – and I am here for it. Driving around looking at Christmas lights is one of my favorite traditions. This year, I decided to take our light tours to the next level with a Christmas scavenger hunt.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt Printable
Our neighborhood does Christmas big. So many houses decked out for the season in twinkling lights and giant lawn blow-ups. Our house included. This Christmas Scavenger Hunt was created with outdoor Christmas decorations in mind.
The Christmas Lights scavenger hunt could be played as a family group or in teams, depending on the ages of your kids and the size of your group. My plan is for us to play as a family.
While this would be a fun activity to do on Christmas Eve or even Christmas Night, it could easily be played throughout the month of December as soon as decorations start going up. For even more fun, we will likely play the game multiple times in different neighborhoods.
We live in a golf course community, so much like our annual tradition of riding through the neighborhood on our golf cart in December to look at Christmas lights, we will ride around the ‘hood looking for Christmas decorations. Then we can check off things as we find them on our Christmas Scavenger Hunt.
On our hunt for Christmas lights, we ride around with mugs of homemade hot cocoa. (I have a great hot cocoa recipe just make a non-alcoholic version if you will be driving around!) Another option is my yummy Hot Cranberry Apple Cider recipe. If it is still warm (as some Decembers are in Florida), my Sweet Tea Apple Cider recipe would be perfect.
