Easy Bento Box Recipe: Ham And Cheese Lunchbox Tacos

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boar’s Head. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s back to school time, and that means it’s also back to packing lunches time. If you are looking for an out-of-the-box lunch idea that fits inside the bento box, ham and cheese lunchbox tacos are just what you are looking for. They are sure to be a hit with kids, and they are easy to put together for parents.

Easy Bento Box Taco Kit

Lunchbox Tacos

No need to worry about keeping these lunchbox tacos warm because instead of beef or chicken, we created ham and cheese taco wraps for a more friendly lunch option. Think of them as a fancy ham and cheese sandwich.

As an added bonus, Sissy liked assembling her own taco so much, she ate lettuce — willingly. She even remarked that it gave the tacos a “nice crunch.” That’s a lunchtime miracle in my house.

Ingredients

  • Boar’s Head Ham slices
  • Boar’s Head Cheddar Cheese slices
  • Tortilla
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Bento box and a spoon

Boar's Head Simplicity

Directions

Place ham slices in a food chopper and dice. Fill one portion of a bento box with the ham. Then repeat with the cheese slices. (I used 3 slices of ham and two slices of cheese for two tacos, but you can adjust based on how much your student typically eats.)

Boar's Head Ham

Fill two additional areas with diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce.

Place rolled up tortillas in the remaining area of the bento box.

When it is time for your student to eat, they get to assemble their ham and cheese taco. Not only do my kids think it is fun to assemble their lunch, it also keeps the tortilla from getting soggy.

Bento Box Tacos

While bento boxes are for the kids in our house, I made ham and cheese tacos for my husband over the weekend (read, we were out of food in house). They were really good. So good in fact, I bought enough to make ham and cheese tacos for lunch for myself this week – minus the bento box.

Boar’s Head

My family has relied on Boar’s Head products for the finest ingredients for years. Its meats and cheeses are a lunchtime staple in our house. Boar’s Head Meats and Cheeses are available freshly sliced at the deli counter and in pre-sliced packages for a grab-and-go option.

With a variety of products that kids love, Boar’s Head makes back to school lunches easy with kid-friendly lunch ideas to liven up the lunch box. And for days when mom needs a quick lunch, Boar’s Head Meat and Cheese rollups are always a favorite in our house. This year, go Back to School with Boar’s Head.

These tacos look like a good alternative to sandwhiches. I am going to have to recommend thiS as an idea to my sister. She is always looking to alternatives to sandwhiches.
