One of the most exciting things about having a baby (besides you know, having a baby) is all the fun baby stuff. A new stroller, a swing, a bed, a car seat, diapers and all of those teeny tiny clothes — babies need a lot of adorable stuff. This Christmas I had the opportunity to surprise two moms to be with a pile of baby gear for their little ones. I had so much fun shopping for the moms and playing Fairy Godmother.
This giveback was completed in partnership with Pampers.
In early December, Pampers gave me the opportunity to help fill a baby registry. I reached out to my friends and family on Facebook and found two expecting moms who could use a little extra holiday cheer. So I secretly got their registry details and went shopping.
A few days later, we packed our family and baby gear into the car and headed across town for the big surprise. With three kids, two adults and a car load of gear I wasn’t sure we were going to be able to make it all fit.
We were all giddy with excitement by the time we met up with my friend for the big surprise. Apparently, the mom-to-be noticed items being purchased off her registry and had spent all morning wondering what was going on. But she had no idea what was coming. With the help of her coworkers, we set up the surprise in the conference room and awaited her arrival.
My elves were happy to help me create the perfect display, which, of course, included lots of Pampers.
Boy, was she surprised.
Operation Pampers registry surprise number one was a success.
But I still had another registry to fill.
A little further away another friend helped me surprise her brother and sister-in-law. I had everything shipped to her house, and she was happy to play the part of Santa wrapping and delivering all of the goodies.
It was fun conspiring with her to make it happen, and I would have loved to have seen her kids faces when all of the giant boxes arrived just before Christmas.
The mom-to-be was all smiles as she opened all of the gifts for her baby. Can’t you just see the joy in her face?!
One of the things I sent that was not on their registry was one of our favorite baby books. The book was a huge hit because the dedication page reads, “For Keith.” Unknown to me, that is the planned name for their son. I hope they all love the book as much as my family does.
Operation Pampers registry surprise was a huge success for two growing families.
I was honored to take part in this giveback with Pampers to make some extra Christmas for these moms who will both welcome their baby boys in early 2018. A big thanks to Pampers for supporting moms and their babies, and to my friends who helped put me in touch with these women and help fill their baby registries.
Congrats to both moms, I can’t wait to see pictures of the babies in the coming months!
