I am very thankful that my food allergies are not severe and my children don’t have any, but because I have family and friends who live with severe food allergies I was overjoyed to learn about the Allergy Friendly Treats at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Allergy Friendly Treats at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party started in 2016, but due to being pregnant I missed the party. So this year, I was excited to see the program in action for the first time.
I was invited to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party as a media guest.
Allergy Friendly Treats At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of my favorite Disney events. Guests are invited to Trick or Treat at candy stations throughout the park. For those who have food allergies the Allergy Friendly Treats are an alternative to the regular candy. Instead of getting candy at each station, you receive a coin to redeem for treats later.
Here’s how it works:
When guests arrive at the park, they are given a Trick or Treat bag. If you have food allergies, you can request a special food allergies bag. The teal bag indicates that you need a food allergy token, instead of candy. (Note, in my experience the Trick or Treat lines go so quick, you will likely need to point out your food allergy bag to the candy passers.)
After Trick or Treating, the teal coins can be redeemed in Town Square or the Heritage House. There you will find a selection of Allergy Friendly Treats to choose from – including non-food treats.
2017 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Allergy Friendly Treats include:
- Smarties

Although they are not listed on the menu, there are also sugar-free treats from Whether’s Originals available. Just ask.

There are two locations to redeem allergy-friendly tokens – Town Square and Heritage House. Tip – redeem allergy-friendly tokens at Heritage House, which is about half way around the park so you can enjoy allergy-friendly treats during the party.
