Coffee Body Scrub

What’s really great about this recipe is that it allows you to squeeze every last ounce of goodness from your favorite Dunkin Donuts® coffee. Because while you can use fresh grounds, you can also use recycled grounds. After brewing your morning coffee, don’t toss the grounds. Save them to make your own DIY coffee body scrub.

Coffee Body Scrub
Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Dunkin Donuts® coffee grounds
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)

Directions

Whisk together the Dunkin Donuts® coffee grounds and the sugar. Add melted coconut oil and mix until completely combined.

Store in a glass mason jar at room temperature for up to two months. I use Ball 4 oz jelly jars because they are the perfect size for gift-giving, and a cute tag slides right in the top.

Coffee Body Scrub Benefits

While I am not a beauty expert, there are some well-known coffee scrub benefits. First and foremost, it smells wonderful. I mean really. Plus the coffee grounds along with the sugar also make an excellent exfoliant for your skin. Coffee is also rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. I also hear that a coffee scrub can temporarily improve the look of cellulitis.

I am also a big fan of making my own all-natural scrubs and bath bombs because of the added benefit of knowing exactly what is in my products. And coconut oil is so nourishing for the skin. Whether you make this for yourself or your loved ones, you can’t beat that benefit.

Dunkin Donuts® Coffee

I made this coffee body scrub using Dunkin Donuts® original coffee purchased at Walmart. We tend to be purists in our house and love the original flavor. (We will use the rest of the Dunkin Donuts® coffee in our cold press to make ice coffee.) But you can use your favorite Dunkin Donuts® coffee — hazelnut, vanilla and pumpkin spice Dunkin Donuts® coffee would all smell wonderful.
