What is hard fruit you ask? Well, in my family hard fruit is a frozen fruit treat that my aunt has been making since I was a little girl. Hard fruit is a little of this fruit and a little of that fruit that is frozen into an icy, slushy snack. And like most things that family members have been making for decades, it is a family favorite.
So when I was challenged by Dole to create a three-step snack using DOLE Jarred Fruit, I knew exactly what to make. This recipe is dedicated to my aunt, in thanks of her many years of making hard fruit and for passing along her recipe for my family to enjoy.

Ingredients
- 1 jar of DOLE Mandarin oranges, juice included
- 2 cans of fruit cocktail, drained
- 1 small jar of cherries, drained
- 1 5.5 oz can of apricot juice
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 12 oz of water

- Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl.
- Cover and freeze over night.
- Remove from freezer 30 minutes prior to serving. To serve break up icy chunks with a fork.

Whether you need the whole jar for a recipe (like hard fruit) or just feel like snacking on a few pieces of fruit, the resealable lid makes it easy to scoop out what you need and save the rest for later. Keep your kitchen stocked with DOLE Jarred Fruit so you can create quick and easy healthy snacks or top your favorite dish with a serving of fruit.
DOLE Jarred Fruit is available at your grocery store in the canned fruit aisle for $2.99 and comes in five varieties. The Mandarin Oranges are perfect for my recipe
