16 Graduation Party Ideas

Graduation Party Invitations – Chances are that you had photos of your graduate taken, this is your chance to show them off. My favorite place for all things photos is Shutterfly, and they have tons of great options for graduation party invitations. (Great Graduation Announcements too.)

Graduation Party Decorations – If you are planning to have your graduation party at a restaurant, then you should keep decorations simple. But a few themed items can really add a special touch to the room. Interactive decorations like photo booth props and wishes jar are a great way to add memories to the party.

  1. My favorite party planning advice is shop at your local dollar tree to get cheap party supplies; like décor, tableware, invitations, and balloons.

  4. My advice is to make a plan and stick to it…. prepare what you can in advance and accept help when offered (we have a huge family, then add in friends and party planning can get pretty hectic for us)

  5. Stick to basic, familiar dishes (this is not the time to try – and fail – at making a new dish). Always make more food than you think you’ll need but be ready to have leftovers, too.

  6. Ask friends, family and neighbors for different items they may have to help keep costs down. Serving platters, extra tables and chairs, even beverage dispensers were available just by asking.

  10. My best party advise is to have plenty of food and drinks. If you are having the party at a restaurant give your guest choices for the dinner.

You may also want to put disposable cameras on the tables and encourage your guests to take pictures to create a memory of the event.

  16. Since food is such an important part of any good party, my best tip is to have a variety of finger foods. Make a list of everything needed and shop at a warehouse type store for the best prices. 🙂

  20. This is the planning advice I liked the most. Display D-I-Y centerpieces. You can save money on party decorations by creating your own centerpieces using things you already own or can buy at low cost. For example, seasonal fruit is a fantastic way to create a budget-friendly centerpiece: It’s festive, it looks nice, it’s generally inexpensive, and you can reuse it after the party (by eating or cooking with it!).
