Lunch On The Go With Mott’s Snack & Go

This blog post is sponsored by Mott’s and SocialMoms. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.

When my daughter started Kindergarden, I searched the Internet for ideas about what to send her for lunch. For a brief moment I toyed with the idea of creating fancy shapes and gourmet lunches with cute food art. The Pinterest pictures were so cute. I scrolled through hundreds of adorable ideas. And then I came to my senses — food art? That is way too complicated for an everyday lunch — way too complicated.

A few weeks into school, reality set in. Making a simple packed lunch everyday was hard enough — no way would I ever manage a fancy lunch. Who has time for that? Not this mom. And if you feel the same way, you will love this parody from The Moms.

Want to know the reality of lunch in my house? The real reality?

I gave up packing lunch. Totally gave up, and passed the baton to my husband. Yep, I went from visions of cute food art, to packing basic lunches, to totally passing off the responsibility. True story.

And for our youngest, she eats a lot of lunches on the go. On the go, as in sitting in the car. Lunch looks like this:

Mott's Snack and Go Lunch
Salami and cheese rolls, a handful of grapes and a Mott’s Snack & Go applesauce pouch. And this is where she happily eats it – in the car.

Lunch on the Go
No really, she loves it.

The only thing that makes her lunch on the go better is if Uptown Funk happens to come on the radio. Then it’s a groovy lunch.

So that’s life in my house. No fancy lunches, just the basics. My kids don’t even eat sandwiches (by choice BTW). But everyone is happy and well-fed, even if no one will be pinning their lunches as examples.

But let’s talk about the treat in my girls’ lunches that makes both mom and kids happy — Mott’s Snack & Go.

Mott’s Snack & Go

My kids (and I) have always been applesauce fans. But applesauce on-the-go used to be a recipe for disaster. It meant a disposable spoon for lunch at school and a complete no-no for lunch in car. Thanks to Mott’s Snack & Go, applesauce goes everywhere with us.

Made with real fruit, Mott’s Snack & Go is an excellent source of vitamin C. Mott’s Snack Go is available in three varieties: Mott’s® Snack & Go Strawberry applesauce pouches, Mott’s® Snack & Go Natural applesauce pouches and Mott’s® Snack & Go Original applesauce pouches.

Mott’s® Snack & Go Strawberry applesauce pouches and Mott’s® Snack & Go Natural applesauce pouches have no HFCS or sugars added, which makes me feel good about giving them to my daughters any time. Plus did you notice Mott’s Snack & Go is part of the Box Tops for Education program? Another reason to love them!

If you are a fancy-lunch-making mom, good for you.

If you are a lunch-on-the-go mom, good for you.

If you are a lunch-packing-dad, good for you.

Regardless of your lunch-prepping style, Mott’s Snack & Go is a quick and easy addition to lunch that makes everyone happy.

These snacks are such a healthy and easy idea! I’ll have to look for them for my grandson. The strawberry applesauce sounds delicious!

My kids love these. They are so easy to put in for their lunch and I love that they are getting their fruit serving.
