Disney’s Imagicademy Mickey’s Magical Math World App Review

Two things my kids love Mickey Mouse and the iPad come together in a new app Mickey’s Magical Math World from Disney’s Imagicademy.

Mickey's Magical Math World
Mickey’s Magical Math World begins out with a mini cartoon featuring Mickey and the gang headed into space for some fun with math. Once inside the app, kids can explore give different game areas each with a math theme: shapes, sorting, add and subtract, problem solving and count along.

Imagicademy Mickey's Magical Math World
Mickey’s Magical Math World is a free app (available only for iPad) with limited game play, additional in-app content is available for purchase for each of the five worlds. My girls played happily for a few days with the free version of the game before I received the full version for review. Although they both asked to buy the additional content, they were very happy exploring the free content.

Mickey's Magical Math World Sorting
I am always on the hunt for educational content for the iPad, so I couldn’t wait to download first app from the Imagicademy series. (Disney has plans for more apps from Imagicademy featuring characters from Doc McStuffins and Frozen.)

Imagicademy apps are intended for children ages 3-8, however, I think Mickey’s Magical Math World  is heavily geared toward the younger side of that. While both of my girls are entrance with the graphics and playing with their favorite characters, the math is too basic for my six-year-old first grader to be challenged. From that standpoint, I was a little disappointed in the app. However, both girls are enjoying playing the app and it is defiantly educational for my three year old, and I am ok with my oldest playing it for fun too.

Kids and iPad
I also really like that the game has an overall recycling theme.

Imagicademy Parent App Review

In addition to Mickey’s Magical Math World app for kids Imagicademy also has an app for parents. The free Imagicademy parent app connects to Mickey’s Magical Math World giving parents the opportunity to monitor their child’s progress within the app. (Available for both iPhone and iPad.)

My favorite part of the Imagicademy app, however, is the additional content for parents. From articles to craft ideas Imagicademy is a hub for parents to get ideas for teaching their children about a variety of topics. I was also excited to see content within the app penned by a fellow blogger.

Disney's Imagicademy
I am excited about the launch of Imagicademy and looking forward to checking out new content as it becomes available. And my girls are loving Mickey’s Magical Math World.

Download Mickey’s Magical Math World and Imagicademy for free and check them out with your family.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
