What does lunch look like in your house? Do you serve a fancy spread every day with great variety? Or do you stick with the basics and household favorites?
In my house it pretty much the same thing every day. A turkey cheese rollup, fruit and some sort of snack food. Not the most exciting, perhaps, but delicious, balanced and easy. Our variety comes from the day’s assortment of snack and fruit. And on that topic my daughters have a very expressive opinion.
Luckily girls eat fruit like its candy, especially strawberries and raspberries, but the snack part is also uber important to keeping them happy. I try to steer them toward healthy options, but realistically they want chips and junk. So I am always on the hunt for something healthier that disguises itself as junk food, like veggie chips. (You know, something with real ingredients.)
Green Giant Snack Veggie Chips
Green Giant recently introduced two new flavors to its line of Snack Veggie Chips — Garden Ranch and BBQ. I popped a bag of each open for lunch this week and served them up to my daughters. But before I served their plates, I had to taste them myself. Oh my goodness, they are so yummy. Like seriously good. But what would the girls think?
“Ummmm. Yummy new chips mommy,” my oldest announced as she happily munched away. The baby said nothing, but scarfed down her entire lunch and then demanded, “More!”
They were a hit with the kids, and they are a hit with mom. (I might or might not be finishing the bag of Garden Ranch as I type. Shhhhh.)
Let’s talk ingredients.
Green Giant Snack Veggie Chips are made with real vegetables. Sure they are still chips, and the calorie/fat content is pretty similar to other chips, but they are made with whole grain and I can pronounce everything on the label, which is a major plus in my book.
While my daughter choose the BBQ Sweet Potato Chips as her favorite, I am partial to the Garden Ranch Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips. Either way, you can’t go wrong with these flavors. (And now that I have tried these flavors, I want to check out the older flavors — Sea Salt and Zesty Cheddar.)
Green Giant Snack Veggie Chips are really tasty. If you are a chip snacker, I highly recommend Green Giant chips both for flavor and better-for-you ingredients. Plus, get a a coupon for $.75 off a bag.
