Finding a new apartment is one of the most bittersweet tasks any homeowner can go through, on one hand you’re finding a lovely, new apartment but on the other hand it’s a stressful, long process.
Use The Internet
The Internet isn’t just for funny cat pictures and funny cat videos, and anything involving funny cats. It is also a powerful apartment finding tool, using a website like Craigslist is a fantastic way to quickly find apartments directly from landlords. It’s also incredibly quick; you can send off an email and be at property viewing within an hour, no waiting around. There are some obvious risks with this method, but it can work out being very cheap if you find a good property.
Real Estate Brokers
This is the conventional and most popular way of finding apartments. Using professional brokers is a great way to avoid any costly errors that come with buying or renting directly on your own. They will do all the work for you; all you have to do is go along to property viewings and find something you like. Remember they do charge a fee, but it is worth it to remove a lot of stress from the process.
Word-of-Mouth
You don’t have to go down an official route to find a great apartment, if you have heard from someone that there is a great apartment for rent in an area that you life, track that apartment down and take a look at it. Some of the best things in life are things that happen off the cuff, just because you don’t hear about an apartment from a Realtor; it doesn’t mean that it won’t be a fantastic apartment that you will love.
Take A Walk
Do you always walk down a street or through a neighborhood that you really love the look of? Maybe it’s close to shops you like or maybe you just love the vibe it gives off. Whatever it is, talk a walk around there and see if there are any properties available and go from there. If you’re going to move then you want to move somewhere you will like.
Friends and Family
This is the last port of call, but if you can’t find a suitable apartment then get in touch with friends and family, ask them if they can ask around for you. They might know someone who is selling an apartment. This is a fantastic way to rent or buy an apartment directly at a cut price, because you can use your mutual friend or family member to get a good deal without loads of hassle.
