Tis the season to celebrate, and nothing feels more like Christmas than a walk down Mainstreet USA all decked out for Christmas complete with a magical Florida snowfall! If you need a little jump-start to get you in a festive mood this year, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas is just what you need. All of the wonder of Disney plus Christmas decor, hot cocoa and cookies throughout the park, a special holiday parade, a visit with Santa and plenty of good cheer — it truly is a magical event.
This was my family’s fist trip to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and, more importantly, my daughter’s FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY!!!! Oh yes, I braved 40 degree weather (cold for us Floridians) with a four-week old! What would you expect, I am a hard-core Disney fan. (In reality babies are EASY at Disney, she slept through the whole evening!)
At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, my family filled up on candy, and at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party we filled up on complimentary hot cocoa and cookies located throughout the park. (Yum!) I don’t even want to admit how many stops we made… For those who don’t want to get a belly ache on sweets, you can opt for apple slices and apple juices. (We had some of those too!)
The highlight of the evening for my daughter was the parade. Her little face lit up each time a new character (decked out in their holiday best) came around the corner. Oh, and we managed to get the PERFECT viewing spot. K’s excitement grew to squeals when Santa and his reindeer arrived – he even waved right to her! (Hint, there are two parades one at 8:15 and a second at 10:30. Skip the first parade and plan to watch the second. Everyone tries to watch the first, so you can get a better viewing spot by waiting for the second parade.)
One of the great things about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, besides the holiday fun, is that attendance is limited for the special event. So while it was sold out on the night we attended, it was still far less crowded than a normal day at the park. We never waited more than five minutes to ride our favorite rides – even the usually uber crowded ones like Dumbo!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is held on select nights throughout November and December. Since the event does sell out on many nights, buy your tickets online in advance (you don’t want to be turned away from the merriment at the gate). The remaining dates for the event are:

I can’t say enough about this fun holiday treat. It is the perfect way to relax from all of the holiday hustle and bustle and enjoy a night with the family that will magically put you in the Christmas spirit.
Disclosure – I was invited to attend the event by Disney, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
