Rev your engines. Disney*Pixar’s Cars 2 is now available on DVD/Blu-Ray/3D/Digital Download, and the race to pick up your very own copy is on. This summer’s action-packed sequel to the lovable Cars is ready for you to bring home.
In Cars 2 all your favorite talking cars are back with a leading role for the lovable, loyal and a little bit goofy Mater. The high-speed adventure takes place overseas as Mater accompanies his buddy Lighting McQueen to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the story takes a turn when Mater is mistaken for a secret spy and ends up on a top-secret mission.
Cars 2 takes a distinctive turn toward an older audience with its more intricate plot line. Not quite as warm and fuzzy as its predecessor, Cars 2 weaves a bit more “older” humor into the story of mystery and intrigue. While my husband and I quite enjoyed the movie and its 007 feel, our three-year-old princess seemed a bit less into the movie. While she normally becomes completely engrossed in movies, she was fidgety and distracted throughout the movie. The disinterest could be in part due to a serious lack of pink in the movie, but I also think a good portion of the story line was lost on her. There is much to love about Cars 2, and I know plenty of kiddos my daughters age who can’t get enough of the movie, it just has a different feel than the original.
Now seeing it in 3D — that’s cool. A feature not available in the first Cars, we all enjoyed watching the races in 3D. The action as never been as “real” in a carton as it is in Cars 2 in 3D. If you are going to own one Disney movie for the kids in 3D, this is the one to own.

Disclosure – I was provided a copy of the movie to facilitate this review, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I like that they have gone a different route with this second movie because the first one wasn’t one of my favorite movies to tell you the truth but it was good enough to give this one a try. The spy theme was a good idea though and the animation was amazing to say the least. I saw this movie in the theater but my kids didn’t get go come. I can’t wait to rent it from Blockbuster with my Movie Pass because then they can see it and I know they’ll love it as much as my wife and I did. It comes out Oct. 11th and I can put it in my queue before it’s even available to rent and Not only that but the Blockbuster Movie Pass from DISH Network that is free for new customers gives me one bill from DISH, over 100,000 movies plus games, streaming and I also get 20 movie channels on my DISH employee account as a current customer for only $10 a month. Next on my queue is X-Men: First Class and I don’t have to pay extra for mail to my home, or Blue-ray.
