I don’t consider myself a gamer. I have never really been “into” video games, but I do love me some solitaire or other puzzle games and I have found myself quite engrossed in Facebook games. I like the challenge of collecting things to earn rewards, so Facebook games are right up my alley. Plus, everyone has to have some way to power down from the day! Now there’s a new Facebook game on the scene ~ A Better World.
A Better World is different because in addition to rewarding players for in-game activities, it also rewards real-world acts of kindness and expressions of gratitude. It is an interesting concept to use the popularity of online gaming via Facebook to promote real-world kindness, but if it works I am all for it. You can see a little more about the game in the video below:

Like many games today, when you first get started you have the chance to customize your avatar. Once your avatar is set, you can head into the game. Once inside the game there are 15 locations to explore. At the Department of Do Good you can share real-world good deeds you’ve performed and see what other members of the community have done, and since this is a game you receive do-good gold for your deeds. The do-good gold can be used throughout the game to “purchase” things for your avatar’s home, pets and even upgrades to your avatar.
In addition to interacting with the various areas with your avatar, you can also head over to the arcade to play games (my favorite part) such as Three Cycle, which is basically like any of those jewel games except instead of removing jewels you are doing good by recycling trash. (And, of course, you earn gold by playing games.)
Play A Better World on Facebook.
Disclosure – I was given the opportunity to share my thoughts and opinionson A Better World. I received a gift card as a thank you for my participation. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
