Ada Twist And The Perilous Pants Review

Why? How? What? Ada Twist is a very curious little scientist with a whole world of things waiting to be discovered. This Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants review is sponsored by Abrams Books.

The story of Ada Twist The Scientist continues with the newest book Ada Twist And The Perilous Pants. This time instead of a picture book, the story unfolds in an early-reading chapter book. Already familiar with Ada Twist from school, my first grader was excited to see the character in a big-girl chapter book. As we read the book together, I pointed out to my daughter how much she is like Ada Twist with all of her continuous questions, which made her laugh. It’s a humorous story mixed in with science-related topics like forming a hypothesis.

My favorite part was when Ada made notes about the things her mother told her in her notebook so she could reference them later. I told Sissy she needs to keep a similar notebook to help her remember all the things she is supposed to do.

About Ada Twist And The Perilous Pants

Ada Twist is the queen of questions. Like, why does hot coffee smell stronger than cold? What kind of birds live in her backyard? And, especially, why does her brother Arthur get so cranky when she borrows his stuff for experiments?

But Ada’s questions really come in handy when her friend Rosie Revere needs help. Rosie’s Uncle Ned has gotten carried away in his famous helium pants, and Ada needs some answers—fast!

How high can Uncle Ned float? Will he fly off into outer space? And, most important, how can they get him down? With the help of her fellow Questioneers Iggy Peck and Rosie Revere, her brother Arthur, and some new friends, AdaTwist is ready to save the day

As the mother of three daughters, I love to find strong, relatable kid characters and the characters in The Questioneers are a perfect example. This STEM-based series is a hit in our house. We plan to add the first book in this chapter-book series, Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters, to my daughter’s summer reading list.

  2. Both of my kids love the picture books in this series. My son will probably read in one sitting and I’d read to my daughter over a few days!

  3. I’d love to win this for all my children! My 8 year old son already read this from the library and LOVED it (was disappointed there aren’t more out yet!) and my 6 year old will be able to read it this summer. It’s a great book and themes I want my 3 sons and baby daughter exposed to… and would make a welcome addition to our home library.
