Because of our daughter’s ongoing obsession with all things Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, we decided to celebrate her second birthday Disney style. Having previously hosted a pink Minnie Mouse birthday for her older sister, I decided to go with a classic red Minnie Mouse birthday party with lots of Mickey Mouse too. Oh two-dles, I hope you enjoy my red Minnie Mouse birthday party ideas.

Minnie Mouse Birthday Party Ideas
I was surprised how hard it was to find red Minnie Mouse these days. I love pink Minnie, but for this party, I wanted the classic colors. So I decided to DIY many of the Minnie Mouse party decorations using red and white polka dot with black and yellow accents and simple Minnie and Mickey silhouettes.
Minnie Mouse Birthday Party Invitation
I even designed the Minnie Mouse birthday party invitation to match my plans for the party. Of course, I couldn’t resist the cute play on Toodles and a couple of other key Mickey Mouse Clubhouse phrases.
Minnie Mouse Birthday Decorations
From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted by Minnie and Mickey emblazoned with “Come inside, it’s fun inside.”
I used my Cricut to create the paper Minnie and Mickey heads as well as the words. Unfortunately, they don’t make the Mickey and Friends cartridge anymore, but you can find them on eBay.
Even though I didn’t buy it for the party, my doormat went perfectly with the party theme too. I bought it from Etsy here.
Red polka dot scrapbook paper and Mickey silhouettes transformed my gallery wall. I do this for parties a lot because it is so simple. I just tapped the paper right over the glass, didn’t even take the pictures off the wall.
Hanging over our bar area, I used double sided tape to add ears and a bow to black paper lanterns.
The large Minnie head was carefully cut from black foam board. I used two pencils, a paper clip and string to form a large make shift compass to draw the circles. Then I cut them out with an Xacto blade. Because the foam in the core was white, I painted the edges with acrylic paint to hide them.
Tutorial coming soon.
Minnie Mouse Party Favors
I originally planned to make Minnie Mouse Ears using the Minnie Mouse ears template I created for my older daughter’s birthday. But I was running short on time, and when I discovered super inexpensive ears on Amazon in red and while polka dot, I decided to buy the Minnie Mouse ears party favor. Available with a red bow (here), a pink bow (here) or Mickey and Minnie Mouse (here).
The Minnie Ears holder is just a roll of paper towels covered in fabric with the ends tucked in the tube. A super easy way to display the Mouse ears.
Note – we still have a couple pairs of DIY Minnie Mouse ears that I made for my oldest birthday 9 years ago. They still get played with and held up great, probably better than the ones I bought will hold up.
Since I didn’t make Minnie Mouse ears, I decided to make Minnie Mouse bracelets. My daughter loves necklaces and bracelets, so it was a perfect party favor for her and her friends. After much debate, I purchased the perfect red, black and yellow beads on Etsy.
The bracelets were a hit, and luckily I made extra because the birthday girl insisted on wearing two.
Minnie Mouse Party Printables
In addition to my letter board, I designed the “We’ve Got Ears, Say Cheers” sign to match the Minnie Mouse birthday invitations.

On the food table, coordinating table tents gave the food cute names like “Hot Diggity Dogs” and “Minnie’s Fruit Bows.” Since everyone has diff

Minnie Mouse Plates And Cups
The Minnie Mouse Plates perfected the tablescape. Using my Cricut, it was very easy to make. But if you don’t want to make them yourself, I found tons of people who make Minnie Plates on Etsy. You can also get cups made to match too.
If you want to make your own cups, I bought clear plastic cups with lids on Amazon. Lids and straws help with spills with little ones (and bigger kids too – I use these for all of my parties). I found the paper Minnie Mouse straws here.
Mickey And Minnie Mouse Food
There are so many cute things you can do with themed food for a Minnie Mouse party. With a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter (here), you can turn lunch meats, cookies, Rice Krispies Treats and more into cute themed food.
Since Disney is celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday this year, I was able to find several snacks shaped like Mickey Mouse including Mickey Mouse Veggie Chips and Mickey Mouse Goldfish (which I called Gooey Fish) at Target.
For lunch I served mini Hot Diggity Dogs, popcorn chicken and fruit kabobs cut and skewered to look like Minnie Mouse’s bows.
For desert homemade Mickey and Minnie Mouse Oreos and Mickey and Minnie Mouse cupcakes were the perfect finishing touch.
Tutorial and recipe coming soon.
Minnie Mouse Birthday Outfit
I looked high and low for the perfect Minnie Mouse Birthday outfit, and I found it! I found P’s dress here. I found the same dress on Amazon in different color combos for a little less, but I had my heart set on the color combo so I paid more for the black and red version. The reviews all mentioned the straps are extremely long, and they are right. I safety pinned the straps in the back for the party, and you couldn’t even tell.
Of course, we had a crazy cold front come through the day of her party. So although the dress is adorable on its own, it was just too cold. After more debate, found the white lace ruffle bodysuit on Amazon. It fits true to size and is white-white, not off white.
Let’s talk about her little shoes. So cute! They are knock off Mini Melissa shoes from the same place I bought her dress (here). They are about two sizes too big for her, but she didn’t care. She loved her shoes. Similar shoes for less here.
Our daughter’s Minnie Mouse birthday party was a smashing success. For our girl who is all about her bows and shoes, Minnie was the perfect way to celebrate her second birthday. Throughout the party, she kept pointing out Minnie and Mickey to everyone. She had a great day.
