I love one-stop shopping. So imagine my excitement when CVS pharmacy appeared in Target. This post is sponsored by CVS, but my excitement about one-stop shopping is all my own. The new combination puts my favorite pharmacy and my favorite store all in one, it’s perfect! Now I can pick up prescriptions during one of my weekly (or more) trips to Target and I get to keep all of my CVS benefits — including earning ExtraCare Bucks.
CVS Pharmacy Now In Target
Last year CVS Health acquired Target’s 1,672 pharmacies across 47 states, and will operate the in-store pharmacies branded as CVS Pharmacy. In addition, 79 Target clinic locations will be rebranded as MinuteClinic, and CVS Health will open up to 20 new clinics in Target stores within three years. And, of course, all new Target stores that include a pharmacy will be branded CVS too.
What Does This Mean For Customers?
Already a Target pharmacy customer? Your prescription information is already in the system.
Already a CVS pharmacy customer? Your prescription information is in the system too.
With the new CVS Pharmacies appearing in Target, it doesn’t matter if you were a Target or a CVS customer before, you are welcome and already in the system. This means your prescription information is ready and you can pick up refills without delay just like before.
Additionally, customers can now visit any CVS Pharmacy — inside a Target or not — to get access to their prescriptions. This expands the pharmacy network to thousands of CVS Pharmacy locations across the country, which is great for travelers.
Extra Care Bucks
Although this means Target’s old prescription loyalty program has ended, it also means Target shoppers can now earn ExtraCare Bucks. If you aren’t already a CVS customer, you are going to love earning $5 in rewards for every 10 prescriptions you pick up. You can also earn rewards for getting immunizations at CVS and various activities on CVS.com. When you earn $5 ExtraCare Bucks, you can use them on your next CVS Pharmacy purchase. (I already have 4 of 10 prescriptions toward my next $5 reward.)
Convenience, ExtraCare Rewards and CVS Mobile App are just a few of the reasons Target shoppers should be excited about CVS Pharmacy now in Target. I know I am excited, how about you?
I didn’t know that CVS was now at Target. That make it convenient especially since the pharmacy is really good. I like when you have a good pharmacy like this because then you get more people coming in the store. I think it mutually helps the companies.
