I love the color Sissy picked for her room. What a difference color makes. Although we still haven’t hung anything on her walls, things are coming together well. And the best part is, she is so happy! What more could a mom want?
A big thanks to Valspar Paint for sponsoring this post.
I was worried it might be too much color; I really tried to get her to choose the lighter shade of this color. But she wasn’t having it, and, hey, it’s a kid’s room. It’s bold, it’s colorful and it is so perfect for her. It also really makes her bedding and butterfly mobile pop! (Color, ocean breeze.)
As a reminder, here is the before:
And now, full of color:
Love.
As I mentioned in my previous post about Sissy’s big girl room, we used Valspar Reserve, which has Zero VOC* in the room. We chose this paint because it is important to us to limit VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in our house. These VOCs can negatively impact indoor air quality — both when painting and for years afterwards — by emitting a low level of chemicals into the air.
With Valspar, Zero VOCs does not mean a lower-quality paint. Valspar Zero VOC* paints are still high-quality while being green. Valspar’s line of interior paints at Lowes is the first line of paint that has zero VOC across the entire line.
The next purchase for the room, will definitely be a mirror to hang over her dresser. I am in search of a bright pink horizontal frame. I also think I want to do a colorful gallery wall above her bed with pictures and a small shadowbox.
There is still work to be done, but I love the progress that has been made and most of all I love the paint color. If you are working on your own painting project, I recommend checking out the line of Zero VOC* Valspar Paints to help keep your family healthy and Lowes Spot On kit to help you pick the perfect color.
Valspar helps you breathe easy.
