Grilling season has arrived, and what better way to kick off a summer of outdoor grilling than with National Burger Day (May 28) on Memorial Day weekend?! This year, spice up your family’s burger flavors with a Bacon Cheese Guacamole Burger made with Johnsonville Grillers — bratwurst burgers.
Yeah, bratwurst burgers. Have you ever had one before? I have to admit, I had not. I am not sure I even knew there were pork burgers available, but here they are. And let me tell you, Johnsonville Grillers are full of flavor, moist and delicious. And the flavor combination of the bacon cheese guacamole burger is perfection.
Oh yeah, you know you are craving one now. Doesn’t that look yummy?!? Well, I assure you that it was. Everyone in my family gobbled it up. There are endless ways to top a burger, but nothing tops bacon, cheese and guacamole piled high.
Simple Guacamole
Sometimes simple is best, and when it comes to topping my burger, I want to let the avocado shine. So I go with a stripped down guacamole that brings out the flavors.
- 1 avocado
- 1/2 lime juiced
- Salt/pepper to taste
Mash one ripe avocado in a small dish with a fork. Add lime juice, salt and pepper to taste.
