Orange You Glad It’s Summer Teacher Gifts

It’s not just students counting down the days until summer freedom, teachers are just as excited about the upcoming summer break. How better to celebrate teachers than with a gift to celebrate summer relaxation –Orange You Glad It’s Summer sugar scrub and bath salts.

Orange You Glad It's Summer Teacher Gifts

This time of year I like to recognize all of the teachers and instructors in my daughters’ lives. That list includes art, music and computer teachers at school and all of the extra curricular teachers too. I always try to come up with something I can give all of those teachers that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

This year, I decided to treat the teachers to a little R&R in the form of orange bath salts and orange sugar scrubs. My daughters have already passed out some to the delight of the teachers.

Orange You Glad It’s Summer? Printable Tag

As yummy as the orange sugar scrub and bath salts are, it’s the tag that makes them a perfect end of the year gift for teachers. I made three versions of the Orange You Glad It’s Summer? printable tag — one for Bath Salts, Sugar Scrub and a plain one that you can use for anything you can think of.

Orange Sugar Scrub

The orange sugar scrub smells good enough to eat, but it also feels wonderful on your skin. Keep it by the sink for your hands, or by the tub for an all over scrub. It feels luxurious, but is so easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 10-12 drops orange essential oil
  • 2-3 drops orange Wilton gel food coloring

Directions

If using semi-solid coconut oil, melt oil in microwave first. Or use fractionated coconut oil. (Both work well.)

Add sugar, coconut oil, essential oil and food coloring in a medium bowl. Use a fork to mix all of the ingredients together.

Orange Bath Salts

Just as easy to make, and soothing for achy muscles. The orange bath salts are just what teachers need to relax after the last bell rings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup epsom salt
  • 3/4 cup sea salt or kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 10-12 drops orange essential oil
  • 3-4 drops orange Wilton gel food coloring

Directions

Whisk epsom salt, mineral salts, baking soda, essential oil and food coloring together.

Note – The food coloring will clump, just keep whisking until color is completely distributed.
