Reindeer Hot Chocolate Gift Set

On chilly evenings there is nothing better than snuggling with the family under a fuzzy blanket sipping hot chocolate and watching a good movie. It is one of my family’s favorite pastimes and the inspiration behind this Reindeer Hot Chocolate Gift Set.

As the holidays get closer I find myself scrambling for gifts for everyone on my list, and this easy gift idea can easily cover all kinds of people on your list. From friends and neighbors to teachers and coworkers – give the gift that encourages family time. (Plus you can make multiples very quickly!)

This hot chocolate gift set was created using Better Homes and Gardens products from Walmart. The product that started the idea for this basket is the Hot Chocolate Recipe Kitchen Towel (available in-store only). Every kitchen could use a new hand towel, and one with a recipe for homemade hot chocolate, even better!

In addition to the kitchen towel and hot chocolate ingredients, I included two white mugs and a fuzzy velour throw both from BHG for Walmart. I just love the red and white chevron for the holidays! The gift is presented in my favorite basket, the BHG small wire basket with chalkboard. And finally, the little red envelope sticking out of the mug on the left contains a note with a code to redeem for a free Redbox movie.

Did you know you can buy Redbox codes for as little as $7.50 for five rentals? You receive individual codes so you can give them to five different people if you want. The perfect extra touch for a hot chocolate gift set.

Hot Chocolate Reindeer Cones

Using the recipe from the kitchen towel, I created Hot Chocolate Reindeer Cones which include:

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

This recipe is combined with 4 cups of milk, per the towel’s instructions.

To make the reindeer brown, I tossed the sugar and chocolate chips into my food chopper to blend them up. This is a purely cosmetic step that doesn’t alter the taste of the hot chocolate, but it does make for a cuter reindeer.

Reindeer Hot Chocolate Cones
To make the hot chocolate reindeer cones you need:

After layering the sugar and chocolate chip mixture in the bag and adding marshmallows, tie the bag off tight with a rubber band and then trim with a brown piper cleaner.

Attach googly eyes and a red pom-pom nose to the cone with the Glue Dots.

Hot Chocolate Gifts
I am not the only one who thought the Hot Chocolate Kitchen Towels were the perfect way to start a gift. During the Better Homes and Gardens Live event, the hosts also created an easy hot chocolate gift set using the kitchen towel and the ingredients in a container tied up with a bow.
