Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials In Theaters September 18

With Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials coming to theaters Friday, September 18 I finally sat down to the watch the first Maze Runner, and I am hooked. Such a great movie with twists and turns that left me wondering, “What is going to happen next?!” Actually, I am a little glad I waited this long to see it because now I can see the next installment in the story right away.

Throughout the movie I wondered to myself, “What would I do?” Yes, I know it is just a movie. But movies like Maze Runner have a way of making me wonder what would happen if the world was falling apart? Would I have the strength to be a leader? Or would I recognize the right person to follow?

As someone who always finds herself in leadership roles (Girl Scout leader, PTA board, etc.) seeing myself as a leader in a do or die situation sounds like a natural fit. (Even though being a Girl Scout leader isn’t quite as intense.) As a leader, I can only hope I would recognize the right path.

Actually what I would worry about the most is my physical strength. I am so outta shape, no way I would be picked to be a maze runner! Mentally, I am all kick butt and take names. Physically, I am pretty sure I am not cut out for a scorched Earth. Ummm… I think I need to work on that!

But I digress. If you saw the first Maze Runner, you are probably already looking forward to the Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. For those who haven’t yet seen Maze Runner, get a copy and watch it. (It is available via Red Box!) This is definitely a series where you need to see the first installment before jumping into the story.

In this next chapter of the epic “Maze Runner” saga, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.

Having just watched the movie, I still keep wondering about who are the people who put the kids in the maze and why? The end of the first movie left so many questions, I can’t wait to find the answers.
