Disney’s Mary Poppins On Blu-Ray ~ $100 Giveaway

tsm 2A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down-wown, the medicine go down…

Feel free to blame me when you have A Spoonful of Sugar stuck in your head for the rest of the day. (I know I will.) I can’t help it, Marry Poppins just makes me want to sing. It was either that or Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey,Chim chim cher-ee! (Now they are both stuck, right?)

Mary Poppins was my daughter’s first live action movie, and to this day it is still her favorite. I couldn’t wait to share one of my childhood favorites with her, but because it has been locked away in the vault I couldn’t get my hands on a copy. Then I discovered an unopened DVD copy at her cousin’s house last year and permanently borrowed it. (But now that we have a Blu-Ray copy, I guess we will send it back.) From the first time my daughter watch it, she was as enchanted as I remember being as a girl.

Mary Poppins Blu-Ray

The songs, the magic, the story! Everyone loves the classic Mary Poppins, and even though we watch it at least 1-2 times per month these days, I never grow tired of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a spot of Mary Poppins ability to clean a room in a snap? I am 34 years old, and I still dream about snapping my fingers and seeing all of our things march into place.

This year, Mary Poppins is celebrating its 50th anniversary. I think about movies made today, and I wonder which ones will stand the test of time. Which ones will my daughters enjoy watching with their children and grandchildren? (I am placing a bet that Frozen will be one of them!) They just don’t make musicals like Mary Poppins any more.

Just in time for Santa to slip a little magic under the Christmas Tree the 50th anniversary edition of Mary Poppins goes on sale December 10, 2013. Per-order your copy today so you can check one more thing off your shopping list.

Bonus features:

  • Mary-OKE’s – New piece highlights popular music from the film, specifically “Spoon Full of Sugar,” “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” Step In Time,” “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and allows viewer to sing-along to animated words that display onscreen in unique ways.
  • Becoming Mr. Sherman (TBC by theatrical team): Join actor Jason Schwartzman as he sits down for a fun and musical-filled afternoon with Richard Sherman. In the new film, SAVING MR BANKS, Schwartzman portrays the Disney Legend… half of the famous composing team, the Sherman Brothers who wrote all the classic songs from MARY POPPINS, as well as many other favorites. Hear heartwarming, revealing stories about the making of this beloved musical, get more insight on working with Walt Disney, and get a unique sneak peek into SAVING MR BANKS, starring Tom Hanks, and Emma Thompson.
