Dollar General And P&G Team Up To Honor Every Day Heroes – Teachers

This post brought to you by Dollar General.

When my daughter bounds in the door every afternoon after school bursting with excitement about her day, there is no doubt her teacher (and other teachers like her) is an every day hero. Patience, kindness and the ability to mold and shape curious little minds. I don’t know how they do it.

Dollar General and P&G are teaming up to honor Every Day Heroes, and in September those heroes are teachers. While all teachers deserve our praise, this month the spotlight is on Kentucky Teacher of the Year Kimberly Shearer. Kimberly an English teacher and Library Science teacher at Boone County High School who has been recognized as an innovative teacher and staunch advocate of literacy, online literacy and school libraries. Kimberly is Dollar General’s September Every Day Hero.

  1. What a great program. I always tried to help whenever I could to my son’s teacher by giving them paper towels, tissues, and other items, and with my coupons from P&G, I can get good deals for items.

  2. Lovely program. It’s so important to recognize teachers. They do so much for our children and, in my state at least, they are chronically underpaid and underappreciated.

  3. As a former teacher, I know how much of my own money I used to spend on supplies for my classroom. I know it’s something most people don’t know or think about.
