Soothe Dry, Itchy Eczema Skin With Neosporin Eczema Essentials ~ Giveaway

There’s winter skin. There is eczema skin. And there is winter skin with eczema – the ultimate itch factor. (If you just nodded in agreement, then I feel for you too. To itch is miserable.) It’s bad enough to suffer from the unsightly itchy patches myself, but to see my poor girl scratch and claw at her own hot spots — that’s even more worse.

While nothing, not even piles of prescription creams, cures the issue I have been using Neosporin Eczema Essentials for nearly a year now and have been very happy with the line of products. The key to keeping eczema hot spots under control is a combination of eliminating triggers and keeping your skin protected. Unfortunately since it isn’t just about dry skin, you must do both. For me eliminating triggers is the hardest part since my triggers include yeast (yes, I am actually allergic to yeast), dogs (which I have two) and pretty much every plant outside. I do my best to limit exposure to known triggers, but four active hot spots right now will tell you that it is a constant struggle.

Neosporin Eczema Essentials

The good thing about the Neosporin Eczema Essentials is that the Daily Moisturizing Cream and Daily Body Wash are gentle enough for daily use (see – they even included it in the name). Using the cream regularly on areas where I know I am prone to eczema spots helps keep those areas as moist as possible. I have to admit that I am not as good about using the body wash regularly as I am stubborn and like body washes that are scented. The Neosporin Eczema Essentials Daily Body Wash is fragrance free. I know that is better for me, but I am, again admittedly stubborn.

By far my favorite product is the cream. I really like the consistency of and find myself reaching for it even just for a hand moisturizer for regular old dry skin. Oatmeal has long been a home remedy for itch skin, my mom used to give me oatmeal baths when my skin got bad. So I liked seeing colloidal oatmeal as the active ingredient, all around good for my skin.

More about each of the products:

Neosporin Eczema Essentials Daily Moisturizing Cream contains colloidal oatmeal and relieves itch due to eczema on contact, soothes irritation, and helps restore skin’s natural barrier function. Additionally, its unique RELIPID formula helps retain moisture essential for healthy-looking skin. The Daily Moisturizing Cream has colloidal oatmeal as its active ingredient, which has been used throughout history on the skin. The FDA has classified colloidal oatmeal as a safe and effective skin protectant active ingredient to temporarily protect and help relieve minor skin irritation and itching due to eczema and rashes.

Neosporin Eczema Essentials Anti-itch Cream contains maximum-strength hydrocortisone and a RELIPID formula. This dual action formula provides fast relief of itch flare-ups due to eczema, and it moisturizes to restore visibly healthier skin. The Anti-itch Cream relieves itch fast when you have a flare, and it is clinically shown to improve dryness, flaking, and appearance of redness.

The Neosporin Moisture Essentials Daily Body Wash has a RELIPID formula that contains a lipid, humectant, emollient, and botanical blend to help retain moisture essential for healthy-looking skin. The humectant attracts and retains moisture in skin, while the emollients help maintain a soft and smooth skin appearance. The lipids help lock moisture in the skin, and botanical extracts including oat kernel extract help soothe dry skin.

All three products are available in drug stores, I also found really good prices for the products on Amazon. If you want to test out the entire product line for yourself, I recommend the trial pack that contains travel-size versions of each. (Hint, the anti-itch cream lasts a long time so you can just buy bigger versions of the wash and cream as needed.)

I’m the eczema sufferer here! It started after my children were born. I didn’t have it too bad when we lived in Florida, but now that we’ve moved back up north again, it has come back with a vengeance this winter!
