Snowflakes For Sandy Hook

With heavy hearts we watched the news of Sandy Hook unfold on TV with an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. While any gesture seems so small in comparison to what took place, this request from the  Connecticut PTA is so simple and so beautiful that it is perfect.

When the children of Sandy Hook return to school in January, it will be in a different building a few miles away, and the Connecticut PTA wants to welcome the children back with a winter wonderland by decorating the entire school with as many unique snowflakes as possible.

To make this winter wonderland happen, the parent volunteers are asking for handmade snowflakes to be sent to the PTA by Jan. 12, 2013:

Connecticut PTSA
60 Connolly Parkway
Building 12, Suite 103
Hamden, CT 06514

A beautiful, simple statement of love from all over the country. Can you imagine it?

For some ideas on how to make beautiful snowflakes, check out this paper snowflake template from Vintage Junky.
