Gift Idea – Automatic Soap Dispenser With Training Song From HoMedics

It’s cold season, and our house has already been hit with a couple of them. Luckily we haven’t had anything too bad, just a couple of rounds of sniffles and coughs. We all know that the first battle against the cold germs is washing your hands, so I hear myself on constant repeat these days, “Cover your mouth when you cough/sneeze. Now go wash your hands, and don’t touch your baby sister.” I can’t tell you how many times I have said that in the last 24 hours alone. It seems that my ever-constant nagging reminding is working because at least my four year old does so without much protest.

Of course, there is more to hand washing then just splashing a bit of soap and water on them. Ya gotta scrub! That’s why we taught our daughter to sing “Happy Birthday” when she washes her hands, which she still does. For a fun twist to this training, Homedics as released an automatic soap dispenser that plays a song to tell you how long to scrub. So cute and handy!

Not only does this soap dispenser come in a fun giraffe shape, it is refillable with any soap of your choice. (We had one of the Lysol soap dispensers for a while, but I got tired of the expensive refills.)

I wish I had this when K was learning to wash her hands, and I know it will be great when baby girl gets there soon. In the mean time, K thinks it is a ton of fun!

From Homedics

The Homedics mybaby automatic soap dispenser with training song makes hand washing fun. The mybaby automatic soap dispenser works with all liquid hand soaps and plays a 20-second song that teaches children how to wash hands properly. Motion sensor technology provides sanitary, touch-free operation and a magnetically attached drip tray removes easily for cleaning. A self-cleaning function prevents clogs and mess. Uses 3 AA batteries, not included.

Great Gift For – While I put this in the kids category in the gift guide because that’s who would use the gift the most, it’s secretly a gift for mom because it makes her life easier! It would be a great gift for a new mom or any mom with small children. It is brand new, so chances are she wouldn’t already have one. Plus it is handy after changing diapers.

Buy It – The  Homedics mybaby automatic soap dispenser with training song is available from Target. Homedics also makes a Touch-free Hand Sanitizer dispenser. I haven’t tried it myself, but I also think it would be great for a nursery or even an office desk (this one is sleek looking for adults).

I love the “song”. When my girls were younger I used to make them say their abc’s while washing their hands. Love this!

Now that Willow is wanting to wash her hands all the time, this would make my life a whole lot easier. Not to mention the cute design.
