StickyWords Vinyl Lettering Giveaway

I have to admit that I was very skeptical about how Sticky Words would work on our textured walls. In fact, I have turned down past opportunities to try products similar to Sticky Words in the past. I thought that they would look cheap and not really stick to our textured walls, but there are so many need things you can do with Sticky Words that I really wanted to try them… Now I am ready to get Sticky Words for every room in the house.

To say that I like Sticky Words is an incredible understatement, the truth is that I am downright OBSESSED with Sticky Words. They are extremely easy to apply – although it does have to be done very carefully – and once they are on they look so cool! It really looks like someone hand painted or stenciled the words on my wall.

I have a tiny laundry room. I mean really tiny, there is a half inch clearance between the dryer and the garage door, but it does have a lot of plain white wall space. A few months ago, I found a little sign for over my sink that says “Landry = Loads of Fun.” Ever since then I have been looking for a big laundry sign for the back wall. When I saw this one on Sticky Words, I knew I had to have it (even thought I was very tempted to get a Halloween Sticky Word!). My quote says:

“If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the piles and piles of laundry will disappear all too soon and that you will, to your surprise, miss them profoundly.”

How perfect is that…

Since I am a direction follower, I made sure to watch the video on the Sticky Words website on how to apply my quote before getting started. I am very glad that I did. Be sure to note that you need to lay your quote out flat (it comes rolled) for about 24 hours before you get started. It does make it easier. I highly recommend the video, it’s short and very clear.

As I mentioned, the application process has to be done VERY carefully as the Sticky Word is not repositionable once it is applied. Of course I chose a very large quote, so application is a bit tedious, very carefully rubbing, peeling, rubbing and peeling the application to the way. But it is SO worth it. It probably took is about 15 minutes to apply… note I said us. It is much easier to have an extra set of hands if you choose a big quote like mine. It was very helpful having my hubby help out. It isn’t hard, but it is a painstaking because I wanted it to be perfect. As a scrapbooker, this process is very much like rub-ons used in scrapbooking, just on a larger scale.

Once applied, I LOVE my Sticky Words. The photo really does not do it justice. It really added so much to this plain boring wall. Every time I see it, it makes me smile.

*** TheSuburbanSanta’s Recommendation – TheSuburbanSanta HIGHLY recommends Sticky Words for friends, family members, even hostess, house-warming or teacher gifts. Seriously, a really unique, cool and affordable gift. Sticky Words are very reasonably priced from about $12.99 for a small one to $29.99 for a large one. (Note: there is also a site-wide sale going on right now.) With options from family quotes to and art word to kids and seasonal sayings there is something for everyone. And while Sticky Words are not repositionable, they are removable.  Obviously, I didn’t test out the removableness (is that a word?) because I want my to stay, but since they are just a vinyl cling they appear to be very easy to peel off. For that reason, I wouldn’t position them low enough where little fingers could pick at them.

I am currently eyeballing this one for my wall for the holidays. I do wish the seasonable ones were reusable, but they are so cool I think it would be worth using just once.  (Can you tell, I LOVE these!!!)

Oh by the way – You can also purchase completely customizable ones too… which would be really neat for a wedding gift or a new baby. So neat!
