My two-year-old daughter is starting early with a love for all things fancy including jewelry, twirl skirts, hats, purses and, of course, tea parties. Yep, she’s a girly-girl! We have afternoon tea parties (and morning and night tea parties too) almost every day. Most are casual, spur-of-the-moment parties, but she loves her tea parties. I have fond memories of fancy tea parties when I was a girl, and I can’t wait to have her little friends over to host a fancy tea party. Here are some tea party musts (more ideas here):
- Fancy dress – all guests must be fashionably attired in dress up clothes, fancy shoes, boas, jewels, hats and purses. Perhaps we will kick off the party with a little dress up time.
- Photo Opps – if a gal’s all dolled up, she should be in photos. Before the tea party celebration begins, each little girl will pose like a model for a series of photo shoots.
- Sweet treats – with the tea party we will serve mini sandwiches, sparkling juices, and bon-bons. (It isn’t a fancy party without bon-bons!)
- Post-party reading – after the tea and snacks, all the girls will gather on pillows on the floor for story time.
I already can’t wait for our first fancy tea party…
