Kisses make boo-boos all better, kisses and ban-baids (band-aids).

K: Owe, I fall down.

Hubby: What hurts?

K: I fall on my booty.

Hubby: Your booty hurts?

K: (nodding) Kiss my booty Dadda.

Dadda kissed her booty as requested, and K bounced off happy to play again. So sweet.

Toddler Talk Tuesday

Kids’ say the darndest things, and what comes out of the mouth’s of toddlers is often down right hysterical! When it isn’t laugh out loud funny, it can be so sweet it melts you heart. To help make sure I never forget these little toddler quips and because they make me smile, I have decided to share them in a weekly post called “Toddler Talk Tuesday.”

I hope you will join me in celebrating the funny phrases by sharing your your kids’ quirky comments. If you are a blogger, feel free to link up to this post via McLinky below. If you are a reader, leave comments sharing your favorite quote of the week. And even if your kids are past the toddler stage, I have a feeling they still have something silly to say – feel free to share! I look forward to hearing all the wonderful things your little ones have to say.

“On the corner”

I really have no clue where/why she picked this up, but K’s newest phrase is “on the corner.” Here’s how she uses it, “I see XYZ, it’s on the corner.”

Me: “Where is XYZ, K?”

K: “Over der, on the corner.”

I don’t really get it, but according to her everything is located “on the corner,” especially in regards to animals. “I see dem, I see the dear, on the corner.”

For my birthday weekend extravaganza, we spent the weekend at Disney. Of course, we have been talking about our upcoming trip for weeks and since the main focus was staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Kidani Village, we talked a lot about seeing animals. For some reason my daughter got it in her head that we were going to a petting zoo. (I have no idea where this came from because it has been nearly a year since she has even been to a petting zoo, but she was set on going to a petting zoo.)

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, animals were everywhere! Giraffes and ostriches right outside our window, antelope down the hall. We saw TONS of animals, but it still wasn’t enough for K. At the Animal Kingdom, K kept asking to see “more animals.” So we headed off to the safari. It was the best safari I have ever been on at the AK. We saw every animal up close. The elephants put on a show squirting themselves and playing in the water, the giraffe were so close to the jeep I could have touched them (I didn’t want to get thrown out of the park) and even the lions made an appearance. But after we pointed out every animal K just said, “More Animals.” Over and over, no matter how cool the animal, “More animals.” There was a field guide above our seats in the jeep and she kept point to the guide saying, “I wanna see dat one, more animals.” We even saw the baby elephant born earlier this summer, “More animals.”

Finally, we made it to the petting zoo, and she visited the sheep, goats and cow. Finally, she stopped asking for, “More animals.” I guess that’s what she really wanted… to touch the animals.

In Florida, socks and closed toed shoes go into hiding from June – September. We live in sandals and flip-flops, but when school comes back around it’s time for new kicks and socks once more.

On the morning of our family trip to NJ, hubby got K dressed in the clothes I preplanned for her to wear on the plane. She must not have been paying attention to what he put on her because on the ride to the airport, out of the blue, she exclaimed, “Hey, Mama. I got monkeys on my socks! That’s so silly!”

Yep, monkeys on her socks, that’s silly.

Alright moms, link up.

Laugh at something a toddler says one, and it becomes the new “it” phrase. Case in point – The other day my husband was playing with my daughter and started singing, “Oh baby baby, oh baby baby.” Without skipping a beat my daughter looked at him and replied, “I not a baby, I KK.” We laughed and laughed and assured her that she was right, she is KK.

Well the phrase has stuck,  now whenever we call her something she busts out with it again. For example, when she was doing something funny I told her she was so silly and she replied, “I not silly, I KK.” And when I called her punkin she told me, “I not pnkin, I KK.”

Yep, it’s her new thing. But each time it is just as funny to me as it was the first time because she says it without pause and so matter of fact. Silly mommy, she’s KK. :)
