Star Wars The Force Awakens Press Trip

Ya’ll I am going to meet Harrison Ford tomorrow. Someone pinch me! Right now I am sitting on a plane to LA on my way to the Star Wars press junket. While I am there I will meet the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and learn all about the new movie. For this Star-Wars-loving mom, this is a crazy big deal.

I’ve always been a Star Wars fan. But the uber fan in me came out when I shared the galaxy with my daughters. I would have never guessed a year ago that my daughters would become HUGE Star Wars fans. But from the moment they were introduced to the galaxy far, far away they were super fans. My four -year-old daughter’s number one birthday wish was for a Light Saber.

They have seen all six movies, are hooked on Star Wars Rebels and have just discovered Clone Wars. My little Rebels further shocked me by choosing to be Ezra and Sabine for Halloween (from Star Wars Rebels).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars is a BIG deal, HUGE. And I am off to meet the people who make the magic.

So who all will I be speaking with on this adventure? Oh everyone in the photo below and then some.

Star Wars Cast
Yes, that is JJ Abrams, Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo). Whew!

Yes, I am meeting them ALL. Oh and the power house Kathleen Kennedy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens producer and president of Lucasfilm, too.

Seriously, can you believe it?

My adventure to LA isn’t just Star Wars (although the headline steals the show!). While there I will also get to learn about Disney’s upcoming movie Zootopia and meet cast and crew from some of ABC’s top shows including Agent Carter, The Bachelor, The Great Christmas Light Fight and Galavant.

Star Wars and Marvel in one trip. This is CRAZY!

Star Wars The Force Awakens Poster

I got an early look at Zootopia at the D23 Expo this summer, and it looks adorable. A whole world of talking animals – what’s not to love? And from the early clips, it looks down right funny – for kids and adults. I can’t wait to learn more about the new animated film due out March 4, 2016.

Agent Carter

Heading into its second season, Agent Carter is the continuing story of Peggy Carter (you know Captain America’s girl. Set in the 1940s the first season introduced viewers to the hardcore female agent who managed to always look like a lady while kicking some serious butt!

I had a chance to go on set and meet Hayley Atwell last year before the show began, and I am thrilled to go back and see what’s new. The season begins January 5, 2016.
